Now I know this won't get national coverage for certain reasons but still where were these parents for all parties involved!

Huh? So are they implying she was asking for it? She's 11. Eleven years old. This entire thing is disgusting.

I can't believe that people really think like this. These boys were old enough to know what they were doing was wrong. Why is anyone feeling sorry for them? I can't believe this woman would actually make such an idiotic statement and agree to have her name put in the paper.

I do not think that the intent is to place blame on the 11 year old specifically as it further makes references the child's mother. The child's mother's parenting and responsibility really needs to be called into question.

It doesn't change the fact the individuals raped her and the wrong that was caused, but the child probably should be removed from her custody.

That disturbed me at first too, but I'm guessing that was just one part of what the woman said. I'm hoping it made more sense in context with her entire quote.

I just think the way the article sounded, that she dressed inappropriately, not "her mother allowed her to dress inappropriately" is what puts the emphasis more on the 11 year old and not her parent. Also the quote from the hospital worker. It's just odd to hear it like people feel more empathy for the defendants and not the child in this case.

I never understand why when so many are involved in any type of crime, that one can't see how wrong it is and stop at least themselves. Hope that makes sense.

now for why the boys are getting the sympothy instead of the girl - it sounds like the girl is "white trash" & some of the boys are the rich people sons - No I don't agree with this, the girl needs help, where was her mother & why did she get in the car with a much older guy??

Yeah they have to live with the fact that out of 18 of them no one thought this is a bad idea. Instead someone thought it would be wise to record on a cell phone and then send or at least show it to her classmates?

Not sure why. Did you happened to talk about it when you heard it? They are not white FYI all the suspects are Hispanic and African and American and the victim is Hispanic. Maybe that is why it's not all over Nancy Grace.

I think I would be more concerned if you weren't. That is just a disgusting thing to have happen. I also don't like the fact that nothing has been mentioned about this on the news. You would think Nancy Grace et al would have had their teeth in it for months now.

It's been all over the Internet for quite a while. I'm sure I read news articles on it and lots of forums are outraged at the "blame the little girl victim" that many in the town seem to have taken.
