What I really need to know is the chances of changing cabins at checkin so I can get a connecting cabin with the grandparents that are traveling with us (so they can help with the little ones). I booked our cruise on DVC points and ended up in 6026 (cat. 8) and 6028 (cat. 6). The cabins are next to one another, but do not connect. Yikes. I had enough points for 2 cat. 6 rooms that connect, but I so stupidly banked them. Also, the cruise starts 2/14 (Valentine's Day) and is really booked.

Has anyone booked a cruise on points and then been able to upgrade/change at check in and simply pay the cash difference?

I have upgraded cabins from a DVC paid cabin. I did have to pay the difference in prices based on that days current prices for the cabins (no specials) Just check-in and then proceed to the counter at the far end. They should be able to help.

Now the problem. If the cruise is as booked as you say, I would be worried that there may not be two connecting cabins avaiable when you check in.

Good luck

Thanks for the info. I don't have a problem paying the upgrade price in cash. We will just hope for the best as far as the connecting cabins go.
