$400.00 for a vacum cleaner:scared1:

Got the dyson pet canister vac and this thing better work.

I've hated every vac I've ever had, so I finally gave in to a status symbol vac. If it doesn't live up to its touted standards, back it goes.

You'll love it. We put off buying one for forever because of the cost. Finally bit the bullet and got our Dyson and we LOVE it. Hubby wants to vaccuum all the time!

I used to wear out cheaper vacs every couple of years. My Dyson has been going strong since 2005-I love it.

It's an excellent investment! We went through a vacuum cleaner every 6-12 months because of the pet hair! We bought the Dyson 5 1/2 years ago and it's still going strong! Ironically, we don't use the pet attachment. :confused3

I felt the same way
but now that I have it I could never imagine using another vacuum cleaner ever again

wow, that's a lot! But sometimes those big ticket items are so worth it if they work for a long long time! Enjoy!

I got a DC07 (the yellow one) many years ago - at least 5 years ago. It is the ONLY vacuum that has never clogged on me. And has held up wonderfully.

It was expensive, but when this one finally putters out, I will get another Dyson.

It is worth it. You will love yours. I got the DC17 Animal (non-ball) in Dec and I love it. I vacuum all the time now.

I bought my Dyson a few years ago from Kohls with a code for 30% off. I also ordered through Ebates and got a refund of 2% from them.

We bought our DC07 Animal, the purple one, with extra attachments for $20 at a yard sale. It works great on level surfaces but we use a smaller, lighter vacuum cleaner for the stairs.

How do you guys like it for stairs? The hubs been trying to talk me into a Dyson for a couple years now and I have a hard time with the idea of that much on a chore I hate :rotfl: But if it makes the chore easier I might bite it.

I also have the yellow dyson...love it!

We did have a problem with the hose breaking after six years of heavy use, it's vinyl with a wire coil. "someone" in my family stepped on it, stretched it around too many sharp corners, etc. lol.
Anyway I ordered a replacement hose from dyson for I think around $40. It snapped right in and it's good as new. :)

'Kay... I'm gonna take the opposite side. I hate my Dyson.... well hate is a really strong word. I dislike my Dyson, alot.

I am a canister vac kind of girl who really misses being able to vacuum under beds, couches, tables with lower shelves, etc. The Dyson beater brush is too tall to get this done. It works great on open areas or with furniture that has nearly 11 inches of clearance. :rotfl:

And that extending wand... sure it will extend, but try doing it and not getting that yellow beast to topple over!

I do appreciate the ability to take it apart and clean it more thoroughly then I could my canister vacuum... But I would trade it for a Hoover canister in a heartbeat.

Just one gals opinion...

We have the DC25 (red ball version from Target) for about 6 months now and it works great. Much easier to maneuver into tight spots than our old upright and MUCH MUCH lighter. My husband usually does the vaccuuming and he hasn't complained about doing the steps so it must work fine. It does topple a little when I pull out the wand for the furniture but it doesn't bother me as every vaccuum I have ever had did that too.

We got a fantastic deal on ours.....DH was working PT at Target at the time and there was an employee only coupon for 40% off any dyson. Plus they still gave him his normal 10% discount on top so we only spent about $270+tax on it! He also bought one for his parents since it was such a good deal.

Congratulations, I soooo want a Dyson! I have gone through too many Bissels from Walmart. I want a real vacuum!

I"ve had the purple dyson for almost 6 years now and I love how well it works but i hate pulling the wand out to use the attachments. It's such a pain. Also it's very heavy to lug up and down the stairs.

I also wish it had a retractable cord. Oh well. we own a golden retriever so we need a vacuum that works well.

Actually a lot of people hate their Dysons, which is why I was able to buy a perfectly good one for $20. My next door neighbor bought the yellow one, used it twice and sold it for $35. We aren't thrilled with it, it's far too bulky for stairs, but for $20 we can live with it.

I've had the purple animal for 8 years. Just replaced the rotating brush and one of the hoses a couple of weeks ago. I love the stair attachment. It can be a pain to lug up and down the stairs but so was my hoover, bissell, black and decker, etc. I averaged a new one every year. I have definitely got my money's worth. I wish I could find one at a yardsale for $20 - then I could have one upstairs and downstairs!
