Canon XSi?

I just watch the review of the new Canon Xsi (to be released in April) and just wondering what are your thoughts of the camera and the new 18-55mm kit lens with IS? Anyone thinking about purchasing one?

My personal opinion is that the new features are a nice step for the new customer, but doubt that current XT or XTi users will go for it over the 40D. The new kit is supposed to be a very big step optically, but not any different in build quality. I just do not get the whole plastic mount thing. For the price people pay for lenses, a metal mount cannot make the price jump much at all. It is almost like they are hoping that it will break on you. It still has the rotating front element as well. That makes it tough for any spinning filters and petal shaped hoods.
