I am looking for some recommendations for camera settings for my S3IS when I go to the MNSSHP on 10/31.

I guess, in particular, since everything is outside at night there are two kinds of photos: 1st are the decorations and characters on the street and second are the fireworks.

All thoughts/experiences appreciated.....

I know for the S5 night scenes with motion are tricky, even well lit stages can leave you with blurred pics if people are moving. There are advanced techniques using the RAW mode and then there is just trying different settings (f5.6 , varying the shutter speeds and exposure) with the camera on a tripod to get the best result. I have seen some very good concert pics from other S5 users but the one time I tried the best I got was when few people moved, such as

if it's real important ask your question in an S5 forum such as:

or
