Thankyou so much for your help
So does that mean if we wanted to take indoor shots and they do not allow flashes, just use a sports mode?I am still overwhelmed by using ISO's etc etc!Plus the manual really does not help people who are learning!lol

Here are a few that I took of my kids this week. They're nothing special but I'm having fun. I am loving this camera and I've taken over 1000 photos since I got it last month. My husband just bought me my very own hard drive for my photos.
Chances are good that he'll be under a bright spotlight most of the time, though.
By using Av mode and setting it wide, you'll be guaranteeing that the camera will pick the fastest possible shutter speed to reduce any motion blur. By setting spot metering, you'll be focusing the light meter *exclusively* on the subject which will also help getting higher shutter speeds.
If you have to, don't hesitate to increase the ISO to 400 or even 800 or 1600 ... you can still get nice 4x6 prints after running the noisy pictures through noise reduction software. Someone, I think it was Amy, posted some pictures (at 1600) of FotLK and they look great!
Also, consider setting the camera into Continuous (or high-speed Continuous) mode and take multiple pictures. The subject might be moving around, but if you take multiple shots generally you'll have a better chance of getting a keeper. Make sure to have extra SD cards!
They look pretty special to me.![]()
Make sure you keep 2 copies of your pictures. Hard drives do go bad now and again!
Hi another new member here! After reading about 1/4 of the thread I decided on the s5! Im so excited!!! I have some questions but Im going to read the whole thread first to see if there are any answers. i would like to ask one silly question if you guys dont mind...is the lens cap supposed to be really loose? It dosent really stay on...
I've found that mine isn't so much loose, as it is quick to fall off when I turn on the camera or when I'm taking it out of my camera bag.
