I don't know if I'm doing something wrong when I take pics in the "Color Accent" mode . . . When I take my pics (after I set my color), everything else in the pic will pick up a tinge of the color. I have a HUGE problem with red. When I set my color to red, I get the object in red PLUS lips, cheeks, SKIN, et . . . and it's not just a "tinge". Is there any way to fix this? I see everyone else's pics using color accent and those seem to be fine. HELP!!!
Thank you!![]()
Ok.. Inspired by this thread, I've been playing with new settings on my S2 (yeah, I know this is an S3 thread, but they're close!)...
Here is my first real trys with the color enhancement mode (done at my local zoo).

Love this shot! I have an S2 as well and just really enjoy this camera! I noticed that in this shot, the yellow was selected, and it did NOT pick up on the green like it did in your other shots. Very strange. I would try getting closer before you set the actual color and see if that helps - and the other thing to consider is how "yellow" the green may be - right now my entire yard would pop up because of all the yellow/brown in it due to lack of rain!
We're leaving for 3 weeks in the Adirondacks so hopefully I'll get some practice time in while we're there!!
TFS!

Could it be that the camera picks up on the "base colors"? For example w/ the pink and blue flowers. I saw those flowers as purple. Red is one of the two primary colors in both pink and purple (remembering the color wheel from grade school art class). The little ball player w/ the reddish helmet and orange shorts - red is one of the primaries of orange. Yellow is one of the primaries in green, like the yellow flowers and green grass example.
You may be right, snowman. I don't plan on using that feature too often, so it's not a big deal to me. But it IS kind of neat when it works right, like the yellow flowers that AbbysFamily did.

With the S2 IS, I zoom all the way in so that the whole frame is the color I want, shoose that color, zoom out and re-compose the shot. I get much less color problems that way. The cameras get confused alot with yellows and greens, especially as mentioned by LMarge when greens are dying and turning yellowish. I don't know what to say about the red problem. Maybe I'll try some red accents tomorrow.

On a side note - what kind of camera case does everyone have? I need one.
