Canon Digital Rebel XT

Has anyone bought the new Canon Digital Rebel XT yet? I am hinting for the XT for my birthday (in two weeks), but so far a don't know anyone that has it. But I've read the reviews on dpreview.com and it sounds pretty good. I originally wanted the new Minolta SLR, but I just can't justify the $1600 price tag. I noticed that Wolf Camera is advertising the XT for around $1000 but they will do 12 months same as cash. As much as I would hate to finance a camera, I have to pay off my cruise at the end of this week, so I really don't need to be paying out any more extra money.

If anyone has it, could you please let us know how you like it?

I just got mine last week! While I have not had much time to play with it, I did take it to my DS hockey game today and experimented a little. I am finding that I really, really like it. It is going to take me a while to figure out as I am usually just a point and shoot camera person. This is my first experience with something so detailed. I ordered it from Ritz Camera online and it was $1000 and no shipping costs or tax. I also bought the Quantray 75 - 300mm lens (which I love).

I too just got the Rebel XT...and love it. So far it's been great...but it's only been 4 days. I took my card in today and got a few prints made. They turned out GREAT. Much better than my Minolta SLR 35mm. I went to kit's camera (which is the same group as Ritz camera)...and found it for just under $1000. I did see in todays Best Buy add...they have it on sale this week for $950.00 . Actually in the add it just said all digital cameras on sale...but didn't give the sale price...so I looked at BestBuy.com and found the sale price listed...so you can also order it online.
