I have the date/time set on the camera (just got it on Saturday, so I have read over everything lol). When I go to the menu section, it won't let me turn date stamp on. It's set to OFF and won't even let me go to that option. Can anyone tell me how to get it so I can have the date stamp show up? :confused3

THANKS!!!!

THANKS!!!!

If I remember correctly- the only mode that allows the date stamp to be on is when the camera is set on 'postcard' mode (one of the resolution setting modes).

Hope that helps.

but you can always ask the photo developer to add the date stamp (based on the imbedded data on the file)

Thanks so much for both of your replies!

Campinggal, you seem to be right. That was the only way I could get the date stamp. Kinda disappointed in that but I guess I'll get over it.

Kelly, I've never heard of doing that. Guess I can try that too. Thanks for that idea!

Oo I just bought this camera - got it yesterday - and was thinking the exact same thing when I flicked through the menu!

Thinking about it though the date stamp does sometimes ruin a picture - and it never did show up on my other camera... it's always stamped on the back though when I get the photos back from the printers.

Kathy - will you post some pictures when you get back from your cruise? We're not going to WDW until November and I want to see how the camera works in action :)

Will I post some pictures?? LOL Of course I will. I'm a picture addict. :lmao:

The main reason I wanted the date stamp on them was because of our son. I was scrapbooking by month for him and it made it easier. I know sounds silly, but that was easier for me when he was a newborn.

If they print the dates on the back, then I'm perfectly fine with that.

I have this camera (along with an XT) and it's WONDERFUL! I don't have one complaint about it, and I'm really happy I chose this as my point and shoot :)

I'm glad to hear that you really like it since I just ordered it online tonight. Can't wait to get it.

Any cool features that you found out about that I need to try?

I haven't had a play properly yet but I've seen a stitching function for doing panoramics and apparently you can change the colour of things in the picture!

May I ask where you (or anyone else) ordered the camera from? I am probably going to order this model in the next couple of days.

Thanks!

Dell has it on sale now but I ordered it from Circuit City (also on sale but not as low as dell). I have a card and got no interest till March 2007. Gives me a little more time to pay it off. Also, incase there were any problems, it's easier for me to return/exhange at CC.

PlaneJoy1, I bought my A610 from buydig.com a few weeks ago and had it in 2 days with free shipping - they also have a sister website beachcamera.com. Another website I see recommended a lot is bhphotovideo. I don't know about the A620 but buydig and beachcamera had a great price on the A610 compared to buying it at a brick-and-mortar store.

I got an A620 last month from buydig.com for $318. It's a great little camera, with really nice picture quality. I've been quite pleased with it so far. The macro capabilities are awesome. I've been taking nice closeups of the first spring flowers.
:thumbsup2

I got it from dell.com before Christmas when it was on sale. Had it within a week (dell is notorious for slow shipping, but I wasn't in a rush).

What is a good rechargeable battery?

Is there a certain brand to recommend or mah number you should try to get?

With my other camera, I seem to be charging them all the time. Now their dead again and ready to be replaced. They last about 1-2 hours and need to be switched so I'd llike to get a new set for DD to use.

 I don't worry about the brand - but buy a high mah number - 2500s seem to do the trick and last for a couple of days at WDW - where I get through about 250 shots a day and use the lcd screen not the vewfinder.

Thanks. I just ordered a pack that are 1800 for my new camera. Guess I can give them to my DD and purchase higher ones for me. They would be good enough for her.

Thanks Jeanne B and Laura for the recommendation. I was actually looking at buydig.com so the personnal experience helps me with the decision to buy online. There prices are much better than my local electronics store.

I'll have to remember that site for next time. Dell had mine for the same price as buydig.com with free shipping.

I decided to go with circuit city so I could have 12 months interest free (on my card) and incase I didn't like it, it would be easier to return at my local store. I had to buy online since all the stores are sold out. Guess that's a good sign...

Can't wait, as my 620 is to arrive today!!!!!!!!

I received the A620 for Christmas, my first digital. I must admit that I was not real excited at first, but now.... I love it! I have not done any of the fancy stuff with it just point and shoot, but now that I am comfortable with that I can't wait to try some of the other things. Does any one know what setting I should have the camera on. Such as Fine, Super fine, M2, etc. or How about the size? What is an all aorund good mode for everyday photos?
Thanks in advance for any and all info
Laurie
