Canobie Lake Park Meet Poll!!! **Update** We've got a date...Aug. 21!!!

This looks like fun! I had a great time at the meet over the weekend, and I keep meaning to get up to CLP so this could be cool.

I won't know for sure until just before the meet, unfortunately. There's some business travel up in the air, and stuff going on in my extended family . . . but I've got this pencilled in for now.

Yes....we,ll definitely be there in August.Count us in for 2 (or more if DD brings a friend)We had wanted to go to WDW this summer and was so excited when the free Dining plan for Aug. came out,that I thought we might go then.....but I think at this point we'll have to wait till next spring or summer to go. So for now I'll be content to have a great time at C.L.P..... just saw an ad on T.V. last nite ,that they have a "new" water park area up there at Canopie Lake Park !!!!!

For the past several years, discount coupons were given out at Market Basket. Also, last year there was some promotional going on with Coca Cola -if you brought a specially marked can, you received a discount on admission. Not sure if either one is happening this year, but I will be on the lookout and let you all know.

I was just on their website and the hours for that day are noon - 10pm. I know I can't stay real late on a Sunday, so how about meeting around 11:30am at the entrance (?) - I also haven't been in MANY years so if someone could come up with a spot to meet near the entance, but a little off the beaten path so we aren't trampled upon opening...

and thought maybe at the exit since nobody would be exiting at that point of the day - anyone else???

I have a suggestion. What if we plan a to do like a tailgating type of thing? Whoever wants to can meet in the parking lot at 11:00, and bring a picnic lunch, and chit chat or whatever before they gates open.

If everyone is game, let's plan on parking over on the right side of the parking lot, near the Yankee Cannonball (wooden coaster). I'll plan on being there a little before 11am driving a brown 4-Runner with a lime green ribbon on the antenae (sp?).

I like that idea about meeting and doing some tailgating, sounds like fun.

I have never been to Canobie Lake Park so I am hoping that it will be easy to find this area where you are talking about meeting at.

Meeting for around 11:00 is a good time. It will take me about alittle over an hour to get there so that is a good time. (I won't have to get up too early. )

Ahhh, thank-you for the terrific suggestions. Let's go with the tailgating at 11:00 to the right of the lot, by the rollercoaster. Just what I need...an excuse to not go to church. Here's hoping nothing is going on that I'll have to be there for!! Takes me an hour to get to CLP. See you guys there!!

Tailgating sounds like a lot of fun!! Oh, and FWIW, Brooks Drug Store has $4.00 off discount coupons but they are only valid on weekdays, just thought I'd let you know in case anyone is planning a weekday visit. See you all there on the 21st at 11:00 !!!

I love the idea of a picnic tailgate meet I have not been to CLP since I was about six so I can't wait to see it as an adult. I bet it looks smaller .

I'm not going to be able to make it. I have to drive up to Maine at 5. I would only be able to stay at Canobie for about 3 hours. I don't want to spend that much just to stay there for such a short period of time. Have fun, all!

remember if you get there around opening they show you where to park

also there is a area inside like a park with picnic tables if thats open we could also eat in there?

Good news and Bad news... Bad news first,we will not be able to make it to CLP to meet all of you.....Now the GOOD news... we will be at WDW on Aug. 21 !!!! When the low airfare came out I had to grab it,since we missed the free dining plan. Can't wait... THANKS so much for everyone on these boards...really got alot of great info from everyone here.....Hope to meet up with you all someday,somewhere!THANKS AGAIN

Ahhh, don't feel too bad. I had to miss the Dan Murphey meet last month because I was in WDW. We do what we have to do. I know it will be awful being in WDW and having to miss us at CLP, but I'm sure that you'll tough it out!!! Have a great trip.
