Cannot guarantee a NON smoking room?

Ms Tink, you really need to relax and mabye try to be a little less quick to jump to conclusions. I never once said whether I smoke in the non-smoking rooms or not....You (along with jakesmom & mitros) assume that I do.

My post was to simply state that CM's are telling smokers that they can smoke in the non-smoking rooms and that there are many smokers who will do just that.

I certainly wouldn't call those people lazy. Many smokers, especially those from other countries are a bit more relaxed about it and don't really understand that there are so many americans who are so incredibly offended by it.

Sorry to jump down your throat, but smokers get a bad rap and I like to think of myself as a courteous smoker. Stupid, but courteous!

Americans are offended by it because it makes some people very sick, as demonstrated by many of the other posts in this thread.

I would like to think that you, too, value the health of others and don't smoke in your non-smoking room. And, yes, not getting up to go outside is lazy...and selfish. <----general statement, not an attack on you.

Edited to add: These CM's are wrong and thoughtless to let people smoke in non-smoking rooms. They are certainly more thoughtless than the smokers, themselves.

Thanks so much for clearing that up.....Being a smoker, I normally feel like I'm under attack when it comes to issues of smoking....

I really do try to be as courteous as possible, but when the CM's are telling people it's ok, the problem will never be fixed. I do appreciate that they're trying to accomadate me, but it really shouldn't be at the expense of others. I would love it if Disney could definately guarantee smoking rooms & non-smoking rooms. Believe me, I was totally surprised when I made my AKL ressie & was told that I had a "guaranteed" smoking room.

I still can't call those people who smoke in the rooms lazy. I really don't think that they are trying to bother anyone & most, I'm sure, would refrain from smoking if they knew that it was that much of a problem. I think that they just don't realize how it will effect other guests in the future and most certainly don't read the Dis boards & read about how many people take issue with it.

I guess I too read the post the wrong way. I'm sorry for jumping down people's throats, it just irritates me so bad when certain smokers are so inconsiderate.
I know not all smokers are like that and I do appreciate the considerate ones!

At AKL, you're not supposed to smoke on the balconies at all, whether you're in a smoking OR non-smoking room. But still, when I went out on my second floor balcony and used my binoculars to look for the little lizards on the ground, the ground was positively littered with butts.

That's just ridiculous.
