Just read this-- actually you all may already know about it-- but i dont come to this board often-- sorry if it is a repost! :goodvibes

Cast Members have reported that during some off hours, cannons were positioned and fired from atop some of the Main Street U.S.A. buildings. Supposedly they looked like pirate cannons and had some pyrotechnics fired from them. It is unknown if this will be for the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, the reopening of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, or the rumored hard-ticketed Princesses and Pirates event.

WHAT IS PRINCESSES AND PIRATES?? :confused3

Apparently at one of the press conferences they did recently, they announced a new "party" for around march, I believe. Off to try to find the thread for ya :)

ETA: Since the search function doesn't want to work :badpc: , I can't find the thread for you, I'll keep trying though, it basically said that there are going to be "classes" for people (mostly kids probably) to learn to become princesses and pirates. A lot of people are saying they think it seems less adult-friendly than the halloween and christmas parties but obviously much of it is still relatively up in the air. HTH for now and Im sure someone will come by with more info than I can remember right now.

I read the thread. Apparently, it will be a hard ticket event, like MNSSHP and MVMCP. Tentatively going to go from Jan to March. They will have treasure hunts, princess areas, classes on "How to Be A Pirate" and "How to be a Princess" and extra character meet and greets.

We are pretty excited about this one, we are going in Feb. Although my DD3 wants to be a "Princess Pirate" :rotfl:

Anyway, I seem to think this one is a go, since the promo stuff for the new "year of a million dreams" says something about "learning to be the pirate or princess you always dreamed of being."

I cannot for the life of me remember the website that had the info and the DIS search hates me. It has never worked for me. :guilty:

Tickets supposedly go on sale sometime in July or August.

LOL! Your DD isn't the only one! My mum always calls me a pirate princess since i love both lol! It looks like it'd be pretty fun. Now to get my mum to take me there for it... :)

"Also, the new, interactive "Pirate Tutorial" featuring Captain Jack and his mate, Mack, has debuted near the attraction and will run through the end of August. Visitors will be treated to several lessons on becoming a pirate, including "Swashbuckling for Beginners" and "Run Away - FAST!" Showtimes are currently 11 and 11:50 a.m.; 12:40, 1:30, 3:30, 4:20, and 5:10 p.m."

I can't sort the rumors from fact, but I sure wish I was going to be in WDW around the time of the premiere and the re-opening of the ride. It sounds like it's going to be a blast!

I think that might be for the reopening of the ride, which is next month, and not the hard ticket party I was referring to (around Jan.-March). Pirates and Princesses is the name of the party, which if it is anything like MNSSHP and MVMCP will be held after the park closes early that night :)
