I have a questions about putting a 12 pack of PEPSI in my carryon. The carryon is on wheels and the soda fits so no problem there. It is not to heavy. My question is with security. Will they let me do it? Will it travel ok?? will not exploded??

Heres why I want to bring it....I am not a Coke drinker, but will drink root beer while at POP Century for the three nights. But when I move to BWV and have a fridge I would love to have PEPSI. I don't want to have to walk to the Boardwalk Bakery for a drink. And I bet all the stores on WDW property sell Coke. I thought of the towncar service and grocery stop but there is only two of us so it is cheaper to use Mears and we arrive at 6 pm. I want to get to hotel and checkin .
I can buy a 12 pack of Pepsi for $2.50 before leaving home and use Mears for $50/both of us (I have a coupon) whereas Towncar is $90 plus tip and soda at grocery store??? not sure how much.

So my question is can I bring a 12 pack of soda in my wheeled carryon?
Has anyone tried this?

As long as you don't think it's too heavy to carry and it can still be safely stowed on-board the plane, you shouldn't have any trouble. I traveled with a friend of mine last summer who carried a 12-pack of Diet 7up to have when we got there. She had no trouble getting through security and they did not explode. (The majority of the drinks they serve you on the plane are in cans as well.)

You can actually put it in your checked baggage. It will not explode as most cargo holds are pressurized like the cabins.
It will also not explode in the cabin should you decide to carry it on. If you won't explode, neither will the soda.

Thanks guys...
I am glad it will not explode I forgot about them serving canned soda on the plane. Its always coke products so I take my own bottle of pepsi.
Gail...I am purchasing DVC at SSR tomorrow. Well doing the paperwork and giving them a deposit....now I will explode with excitment. I can not wait to be able to call WDW "HOME"...yeah
Any advice you have you can send me a private messsage.

Thanks,
Lori

Lori,
Congrats and Welcome Home. I will be happy to give you any advice I can, I just need to know what you would like to know.
Another great place for info is right here on the DIS, DVC discussions.
My advice for right now, enjoy and have fun planning. I don't think you will regret a minute of your membership. It is great.

Thanks for asking this. I'm planning to pack a lunch for my family in a collapsible cooler -- our flights are poorly timed so that we can't eat in the airport and I want to wait and have a big dinner so we'll have a snack lunch on the plane.

There's a remote chance that the cans will have trouble with the cold. If the cans are already cold when checked, and then they sit on the tarmac for however long, you have the potential of the contents freezing. The cargo compartments are temperature and pressure regulated, but luggage may still spend a significant time outside.

Very true, Alex, but, I have yet to encounter a problem, except once, when a bottle of Newman's Italian broke, I sure could identify my luggage. :) Luckily, it did not leak all over someone else's luggage.
