Has anyone else noticed that when you open up a can of vegetables and drain of the liquid that most of the time the can is only 2/3 to 3/4 full of veggies?

They used to be full almost to the rim. And it seems to be happening no matter whether you buy the store brand or a name brand. Just like when a "pound" of coffee is 11.5 ounces now.

My DH was complaining about something similar yesterday. He was complaining about a can of tuna. One can isn't enough for two sandwiches for him and two cans is too much.

He said he would rather them just charge more and leave the amount in the cans alone. I told them they ARE charging more, but also putting less in the cans.

That's why I only buy frozen vegetables now. If the bag says "16 ounces" you get 16 ounces.

Has anybody tried the frozen veggies that steam in their bag?

Those are really good & I bought a bunch on sale for less than a dollar!

I guess I've never bought vegetables in a can.

ITA! I also made a tuna sandwich yesterday, first time in a longggg time. (I LOVE tuna, but with two cats it's usually not worth getting stampeded. :rotfl:) So I decided to give them the "tuna juice" to keep 'em occupied while I made a sandwich.

Geesh! I swear there was more water in the can than tuna - the can was barely half full.
