HI, I'm having a candy buffet for my DD 16th birthday in April. There will be approximately 20 -25 people. Does anyone have any links besides the Candy Factory and Candy Works Outlet that sells bulk candy? Or ideas? Her party colors are brown, white and blue. Already snagged Hershey Almond Joy and York pieces.:goodvibes

Depending on the shade of blue you want, with Easter rolling around, you should be able to find lots of pastel blue pkg candy. Candywarehouse.com is another bulk site.

jelly belly has an online outlet

I think with her colors I might take a white or clear pyrex dish....fill it with brown M&M's and get some Blue Peeps.....it would look like peeps swimming in a pool of chocolate

Too bad the party wasn't happening now you could add in an Olympic tie in and make some Quatchi cupcakes.

If her party is after Easter, you can get some great deals on clearanced out candy. DD's was in January & I bought a bunch of candy for hers at the holiday clearance sales. We got some really pretty sparkly pink m&ms that we put in little bags plus a bunch of individually wrapped stuff that weren't holiday colors.

I did a candy buffet for DD's Sweet 16 too. I got a few bags of candy from Sam's but 99% of it I got from the Halloween clearance section at Target. I had a TON of leftover. But I saved a TON too and it was a big hit.

Try EconomyCandy.com - it's an old fashioned candyshop on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in NYC. Their prices are not quite old fashioned but a lot less than some of the upscale candy shops like Dylan Candy

:rotfl2:This was going to be my suggestion! Very competitive prices!

my biggest hurdle is trying to stick to the party colors... blue, brown and white. If i have to get other candy colors i will, but will hold out to the end LOL, i'll check out those new sites.
THanks!

Do have photos of your DD's party buffet? How did you control how much the kids took? She has a couple of really big guys in her grade( she goes to a small private school and only has about 12 kids in her grade) and i'm afraid they'll be smart a$$ and fill their bags to over flowing but i don't want to put a monitor there either and treat them like babies.

Oriental Trading Co. would be a good one too. To limit the kids from taking tons of candy, maybe just get very small boxes or bags to put on the table for them to fill. That way you can keep an eye on if they are taking a bunch of bags. Good luck!

I did a candy buffet last June at my DS school for 210 graduating 5th graders. The colors were red, black, and white. I actually found that it was less expensive for me to get candy at local grocery stores and such. Something as simple as tootsie pops were at least 3 times more online and I'd have to pay shipping. Sure I had to stand in the bulk section at Meijer and pick out all the cherry ones, but I thought it was worth it. :upsidedow

No idea for cheap chocolate, unless you can wait until the week after easter... I would prebag the kids candies and then have some out to eat at the party

Can you guys post pictures??? I'm going to have a candy buffet at my DDs graduation party.

Maggie

Maggie, i obviously don't have pictures since her party isn't going to be until April 23rd, but if you look up candy buffet, you will find sites with photos. That's what i did.

Sorry it took so long but here's the pics from my DD's Sweet Sixteen last November:
