Hi
I would like to have your feedback on candy cane is it close to DL ??? can we walk to the parks ??? How far ??
Is it a clean hotel ( got burned our last trip in may 06 in a bw  ) ?
How about it's breakfast ???
Thank you don't want to repeat last year bad choice of hotels dh would't like it he says as much as he loved DL & DC the hotel we had choosen ( online ) made his trip not such a memorable experiences don't need a deluxe hotel but a clean hotel would be nice and one we can walk to parks .
thanks again

You can't go wrong with the CCI. It is #1 on Tripadvisor and is a Disboard favorite. The walk is about 10 minutes to the esplanade, but they also have their own private shuttle that runs consistently to/from the park.

The breakfast is spoken of highly as well and is much nicer than most of the other stale pasteries you wil find served at local hotels.

Beds are plush, rooms a bit tight, but decorated lovely and extremely clean.

Enjoy!

Love the CCI! It is one of my favorite places to stay offsite.

It is about a 10-15 min walk. They do have a shuttle if you get tired and don't feel like walking. I've never had a dirty room and the landscaping is really beautiful. The continental breakfast is good. They have things like bagels, toast, cereal, pastries and fruit IIRC. They have a limited number of tables so sometimes it's easier to take back to the room.

I've only had good experiences staying at the CCI. It really is a well run motel.

Candy Cane is a lovely, re-furbished motel. The rooms are small, but beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. Deluxe rooms are slightly larger than standard. Premium rooms are just deluxe rooms with a microwave and a vcr/dvd player and the option to have breakfast delivered to your room. Not worth the extra money, in my opinion.

The property is beautifully kept, with lots of flowers and plants everywhere. The breakfasts are a step up from most continental breakfasts.

I'd say the walk is equivalent to about 4-5 blocks, and is very easy to do in 10 minutes (if you stroll). The shuttle bus is a nice option for coming back to the hotel after walking all day. It runs every half hour.

I've stayed here twice and I always recommend it to others. It's my favorite off-site property.

CCI is a very good Motel, it is just over half a mile to the DL entrance. There has been debate over how long it takes to walk but at the end of the day it will depend on how fast you walk. Rooms are quite small if you are travelling with children. The Hotels/Motels straight across Harbor are the closest: BWPPI, Tropicanna and Carousel Inn are all very popular here too. About the same distance away but a lot cheaper is HoJos which is also very popular, it has much bigger rooms and excellent pools.

I don't think you can go wrong at any of these Hotels...

Another vote for the CCI. With the exception of this last trip where we stayed at the DL hotel, we have stayed at CCI for at least the last 7 visits.

No complaints. The staff is very friendly and you can't beat the shuttle to the hotel after all day at the park.

We LOVE CCI. The walk is easy, even with children. We had plenty of room with four of us in the room. The breakfast is perfect for people that do not typically eat big breakfasts. The kids had everything and more they could want out of it. The grounds are gorgeous and the service was always fantastic. The shuttle is very nice. We would take it and save our feet if the shuttle was a moment or two away. If it was inconvenient to wait...no big deal. The walk is very well lit and pleasant, with daylilies and other perennial flowers along the way. Very resort like.
As long as your DH doesn't mind pink, he will enjoy himself mmensely.

I am not a big CCI fan. The landscaping is nice but a strip motel is a strip motel and you can get nicer rooms for the same price. We had kids running the length of the entire motel on the walkways upstairs at 5 in the morning and 11 at night yelling and giggling. We have kids but that was rude. The breakfast is passable but not memorable. We stayed in a premium room so we could eat breakfast in our room. The problem was it was so small we could only fit 2 at the table and 3 had to eat on the beds. I am allergic to down blankets and asked for an alternative. Guess what I got...old gray wool itchy camp blankets. They refused to give us comforters because they said they had none and that was all we got. The pool holds 15 max it is really small. The first three days the pool heat was turned off in November because they said it was the slow season and they would turn it on when it picked up on the weekend :confused3:
The kiddie pool was freezing. You could never get into the hot tub at the end of a long Disney Day because it was always full of adults drinking beer. We had stuff stolen from inside our suitcases in our room while at the park. The shuttle driver made sure everybody knew he expected tips and he hated strollers and always told me they took up too much space on his shuttle. Some days it was quicker to walk back to the motel than wait for a shuttle to show up. It was really unpleasant for us non the less so unfortunately I would not recommend it!

I've never stayed at the CCI, but for what it's worth, the PP pool mid-September was VERY cold as well. Kid's pool, according to DH, DS, and other parent/child sets we saw get in and out quickly, was even colder.

We had friends stay at the CCI while we were at the Carousel Inn, they were dissappointed too, not so much that it was a bad place, just that it didn't live up to the hype that some seem to give it. As Drag n fly says there are other places that are better for the same money or of a similar quality but closer and cheaper. Having said that you won't have a bad stay at the CCI.

Everyone has their own preferences and peculiarities so you'll always get a mix of responses. We are a family of 5 and stayed there this past August for the first time. We had a premium room. No issues with roominess, although others may complain it's too tight. Having breakfast brought to our room with anything and everything we put on the list was fantastic. No way to have a table for 5 in a general hotel room so we are accustomed to someone not getting a table and chair and ending up eating on a bed. Simply avoiding the chaos in the small breakfast area was worth the added cost of the premium room alone. It was always delivered right on time as well.

I've heard others mention loudness in the corridors, but we never experienced it. I think something like that is just luck (or unluck) of the draw. Besides, we were always so tired I don't think anything would have kept us awake! The super comfortable beds really help as well.

The walk was really easy and about 10 minutes. Having the option of the private shuttle was a bonus when you're tired leaving the park and don't feel like walking another inch.

Overall, we enjoyed the stay there and will most likely book it for our next trip.

I've stayed there 3 times, and would returne without question. Yes, it is a motel, but that doesnt bother us. We have never had a problem with excessive noise outside our rooms.

As a comparison I've stayed at PPH and the fairfield. While both are nice, they are both more expensive and you have to walk further. I would choose the CCI over either of them.
