I just wanted to make a post to let you know how our overnight stay at The Candy Cane Inn went. We did not have bad luck on Friday the 13th. We normally stay in Marriott's and 2 bdr vacation villas for our week vacations, we have also stayed at the Grand Californian (just Dh and me) and Paradise Pier as a family. So I was a little nervous as to how we would do in one motel room, but we are on a budget at last!!! Me 38, DH 37, DD 10, DS 8
Checked in at 2:15pm.
requested 2nd level so it would be quieter & it was (there is no elevator)
we had a standard room, triple A rate $92.00 with tax $105.00, paid cash!
Observations:
Very nice landscaping, lots of flowers and cobblestone drive add charm
gift shop in lobby also has snacks and medications for sale
pool is small but was nicely heated, towels provided
room was small but adequate, no closet, just a hanging bar
the fridge kept drinks cool, only one sink was a slight hassle
the beds were awesome!!!! Soooo comfortable!!! I had a great night!!
Continental Breaksfast was nicely presented and well stocked. Variety was somewhat limited (bagel, toast, muffin, doughnut, cereal, fruit) but you will get enough to tide you over for a few hours. The shuttle was nice and timely. We did walk once too and it was about ten minutes, very safe and seemed to take no time.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat, 2 or 3 nights would be no problem at all. Very nicely done and a geat value IMHO!
Hope you have a great time!
P.S. Our annual passes expire on Tuesday,
gotta keep working the budget and when we have no credit card debt and I can save up the cash we will have them again!!
