Candy Cane Inn Review

That is why I always travel with a sleep mask and ear plugs. With those I can sleep in almost any hotel room conditions.
That's a good plan for sure. I find the mask distracting though. I don't like having something on my face. I can handle earplugs though.

What do they do about breakfast on rainy days?
I'm not sure. It started raining this morning (our last day there) just after breakfast was finished. But all the food except for the waffle station cart is inside and many of the tables are on the covered patio. Maybe they'd rearrange the tables and bring the waffle wagon onto the patio. There are several tables under umbrellas around the pool too.

It looks like Donkey from Shrek should run it 😉

Did you have a microwave?
We’ve stayed there twice, booked standard rooms both times. First room did not have a microwave, second room did but I later found out we had been upgraded. So maybe only the premium rooms have microwaves?

Interesting as a microwave is not listed as an amenity on their website. 🤔 I think that’s a huge plus to have a microwave in the room. We stay in a premium room in June. I’ll see if there is a microwave

On the booking page of the website it lists the premium room having a microwave

Premium 2 Queen Beds - No Smoking Largest room featuring Deluxe room amenities PLUS: Microwave, Video player, Welcome Amenity, Spa quality personal care items, In-room breakfast service, Turndown service, Late check-out of 2pm.

Interesting. On the room page it doesn’t mention a microwave for the premium room.

You can purchase “travel” blackout curtains. They attach to the windows with suction cups and are very efficient at blocking out the light. We always travel with two of them because it’s so much easier to get our toddler to nap when there is no light in the room.

Great idea, Kristensideaoffun. Too much night window light was always one CCI drawback for me. Do any of you know if any of the new rooms now have a kitchenette? I know other DL area hotels do and would love if CCI did, thank you. I'm just glad such a lovely hotel with always kind staff is still in business. Happy stays to come to all ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the tip! I also need the room to be dark and can't stand a sleep mask. Travel blackout curtains sound perfect! Does anyone know about how big the windows are? We will be in a premium room in October and wondering if I should get one or two curtain panels since they are kind of pricey.

I stayed at Candy Cane for the first time Thursday night after Star Wars Nite. What a quaint, charming place! In the past, I've avoided it because they don't have suites and we typically travel as a family. This was a couples trip, so it was perfect. Service was great, breakfast was clean and well managed with several attendants. The property was impeccable. There was even someone scrubbing the cobblestone parking lot with a scrub brush (this really impressed my husband😂). While I typically prefer to stay closer, the walk really wasn't bad, and felt less daunting than the walk to Hojo. Maybe it's because you're not dodging cars along a bunch of hotel driveways 🤷‍♀️. Overall, I was super impressed with the remodel.

The only disappointment was that the last shuttle run left the parks at 12:45am, and the party didn't end until 1am. We walked back, and that was fine. We got off space at 12:59am, and we were in our room at 1:20am.

Yeah, the walk isn't bad at all. I met up at Disneyland with some friends several years ago and one of them, who was visiting from Florida, preferred to walk to the CCI because as a WDW veteran, he liked the novel concept of being able to walk between his hotel and the parks, not having to take a bus or other transportation!
