I just watched a YouTube video on the Candy Cane Inn, and the couple didn’t even fold up their stroller and there was plenty of room. Will a folded up stroller fit on the trolley?
James is awesome like that! He takes good care of folks onthe shuttle…even might let the little ones ring the bell! The stroller doesn't even need to be folded up. The driver will bungee cord it to the back of the driver seat to keep it from rolling around.![]()
I know, it's really gone up. They priced us out. In March of this year (2023) when we stayed with them the premium room was still $219 and the standard rooms were $179. Now everything is over $300 per night. It's really hard for us to justify staying in the same room with the same amenities for almost double the price (for the standard rooms). I gave them a call and asked about the pricing and they said it's "peak" pricing and to try checking further out into the off season... but Jan, Feb, and March of next year are all at the same $300+ price. I think everyone shared about it too much after the remodel and now their demand is just really high. It's a very nice place to stay, but other hotels are winning us over unfortunately. We wanted it to be our "place" and we were gunna stay there every trip... Oh well! :/Just checked availability for a trip in October. I was shocked at the price hike since our last trip. Granted, it was 2018 but still. The price for our two queen premium room in 2018 was $219. The price the website is showing today for the same room is $373.
I know they were closed for a long time and need to recoup some losses in revenue but I just don’t think the CCI is worth over $400 a night after tax.
Makes me sad to say so because we have always loved it there so much.
The pricing of the CCI was the beauty to me before. You felt like you were getting so much for $219. The CCI is not a $373 a night hotel any way you slice it.I know, it's really gone up. I was expecting mid-200s for our stay. A slight bump like you were able to book. I would have been fine with $249.I may have gotten lucky with timing and booked right before they updated their October prices. I booked a premium queen room about a week ago for our Oogie Boogie dates for $249 per night. They were nearly sold out of all rooms (completely sold out now) so I was glad to get a reasonably priced room as Park Vue and BWPPI were considerably higher. But agree that I definitely wouldn't have booked if the price had been $373!
It's definitely a bummer, but unfortunately not out of line for comparable hotels at that time too. I just plugged Park Vue Inn for Oct. 18-20 and for a standard 2 queens it's $793 vs $738 for a premium queen at CCI. And I bet both are among the last rooms they have available. Even a room at Desert Inn & Suites is nearly $500 for 2 non-weekend nights in Oct.I was expecting mid-200s for our stay. A slight bump like you were able to book. I would have been fine with $249.
CCI didn’t used to play the surge pricing game. That was another thing I liked about them. The price was predictable, always. It's definitely a bummer, but unfortunately not out of line for comparable hotels at that time too. While I'm sure they do want to recoup costs, I think a lot of it is simply going with what the market will allow and October is so busy, the prices are surging. I've stayed several times at CCI since they reopened and have never paid over $229. But right now so many of the popular places are booked for October, the scarcity definitely gives leverage to the hotels![]()
Dang. It wasn't that long ago I was paying that at Paradise Pier. The pricing of the CCI was the beauty to me before. You felt like you were getting so much for $219. The CCI is not a $373 a night hotel any way you slice it.
