Candy Cane Inn Review

I'm surprised to see the room difference, as well. I've stayed 3 times since the renovation and none of our 2-queen bed rooms had a microwave or the larger refrigerator. The mini fridge was located under the desk, and the sink and vanity area were also separate from the toilet/bath.

Can also confirm the trolley only runs hourly now. It leaves the hotel on the hour and leaves the park 15 after the hour, I think. We usually find it easier to walk when going to the parks, but did take it back once after leaving DL at midnight. It was just nice timing that we came across it as we were heading towards Harbor anyway.

Interesting that your standard had no microwave and a smaller fridge compared to the OP. Very odd, IMO. I think all rooms of the same type should have the same amenities. It would frustrate me to think I was getting a microwave and decent sized fridge and then ended up without.

OP - did you find you had to wait long for the trolley or did you just specifically time things so you wouldn't have to wait? I heard it only runs hourly now instead of every 1/2 hour. Is that what you experienced?
I was shocked to even see a microwave in the other room. It’s not listed as an amenity on their website. (I know website has not been updated yet) and yes, my DH said the fridge in his room looked older and not new. And much smaller!

I only walked back from the park one time. I specifically timed things so that I didn't wait for the trolley both to and from. it does only run hourly now. On my trip, the trolley was never crowded.
Returning from the park, the driver would ask if people wanted to be dropped off at the lobby or at the back of the hotel.

It seems from what I've figured out since returning home, that only the smaller Standard rooms facing Harbor have the larger fridge and microwave. There only a few of these rooms. It's more likely to get the larger standard room because there are more of them.

What's the current situation with housekeeping? Are they back to daily cleaning/bed making yet?

Anyone seen signs of waffle makers? someone on the socials was saying they are getting them....

I saw a pic of a waffle maker on Instagram I think, but when I was there I didn't see one. I actually love their breakfast but adding a hot item would be wonderful.

Did you need to show a wristband or something to get on the trolley? How do they know if you’re staying at the hotel?

No wristband needed. I guess it wouldn't be that hard for someone not staying at the hotel to get a ride.

We stayed in what I think might have been the same room years ago. We had a hard time sleeping because the shutters did not block the landscaping lights outside. Sad to see that they didn’t change that in the renovation.
I need absolute darkness to sleep. This would not work for me at all. I also hated the upper floor room in the lower buildings at Hojo because they have a big uncovered arch window on top that lets lots of light in.
