Candlelight - Reducing Number of People?

DD is planning on bringing a friend next Christmas but sometimes travel does not work and they can not attend in time.

Has anyone every had any issues with making a CP reservation for 4 then later reducing to 3?

I read here last year that somebody did that and they were charged for the person that didn't show. I don't know if that was 100% factual, however.

Last year we showed up for our Candlelight package with only 4 people of our party of 6, at Via Napoli, it was no problem.
