I haven't done Candlelight Processional yet, but looked into it for our upcoming trip and decided that we'll be doing it for my Mom's birthday.
From my research, I found that the theater for Candlelight Processional only holds 1500 people. Now, you don't have to have the dinner package to go, but the folks with the dinner package get the best seats. Plus, the dinner includes an appetizer/soup/salad, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage for each person. Also, the $45 includes gratuity, but not tax. So, for $45 you get a meal that's worth right about $45 and you get the better seats (it's still recommended that you get to the show early as it is "open seating" with the seats in front held for dinner packages).
Plus with a 5 p.m. show, we decided to do Candlelight Processional and then have dinner rather than go to
MVMCP which starts at 7 p.m. and runs till midnight (there's no way any of us can stay up that late and be good for anything the next day, esp. my young kids). The cost is roughly the same, but with Candlelight Processional, we get dinner.
