Candlelight Processional

I've seen this mentioned a few times but don't really have an idea of what exactly it is. I believe I will be there during it this year (my trip is Nov 30-Dec 6, although we're not at DL/DCA every day).

What is it?

Is it a must-see if we are there?

How would you rank it compared to WoC, F!, Christmas Parade and Fireworks?

It's something special though not everyone's cup of tea.

The dates are the 3rd and 4th. CM's holding candles will walk down main street and assemble on the platform of the train station facing Town Square.

A special guest narrator, usually a well known actor, will tell the story of Christmas. The CM's who competed to partcipate sing carols.

Seats are sold right up front to watch, they are very expensive and already sold out. Everyone else stands crowding the square and that end of Main Street.

I'm not sure what you mean by "sold". Can you clarify?

Yes, it is a must see
Seating is only available for "special" guests. Dinner packages have not been available for several years. A D23 Candlelight package was offered in 2009, but nothing this year (so far).

Candlelight is not secret, but is not advertised -- it will not appear on any schedules (online or printed in the park).

We saw it in 2005 when Dick Van Dyke was the narrator. It was very cool and I'm glad we just happened to be in the park that weekend. Lots of standing and waiting, but if you can hang it's well worth it.
