Candlelight Processional

On my recent email from concierge (who are making all my ADRs) they say that they will book the CP dinner package in August :confused3

I don't think so. They make way more money with packages. It is guarantedd money just like the the dining package. Also if you look at the price of say garden grill which is a set price you actually pay more for the CPP so essentially you are paying for a ticket.

Also I think the line outside would start way to early without a package which would be a major disturbance all day.

I did get a call from someone finally. It's mid August and that's all they knew as well. I tried to post, but I couldn't until today. Not sure what the deal was there.

There were some technical problems with the forums yesterday, but they resolved later in the afternoon.

August just seems so far away. I'll keep watching and hoping that the packages are released prior to then! :wizard:

I don't think they will come out before then. They won't release them until they have the speakers and July 31st is when they start bookings for Food and Wine and they don't want to do both at the same time.

Regular ADRs cannot be converted either.

I am going to make back up dining arrangements for my week. Hopefully we will get the night I have planned and it won't be an issue. By the time August comes around all the place may be full where we would want to eat so I am going to do that.

If you decide *not* to do the package, which is the least popular showtime?

And what exactly is included in the package? Appetizer, entree, dessert, non-alcoholic beverage? Tax and tip?

I would guess that the LAST showing is the MOST popular.

I would guess it's a toss up between the first 2 showtimes.

(I think the showtimes are 5pm, 6:45pm and 8:15pm or thereabouts)

Anyone with younger kids or who wants to see the show and then eat will be at 5pm. We tried going with our kids when they were really young and we hit the 5pm show. We ended up leaving before it was completely finished because they were antsy.

6:45pm (or the middle time) I would guess may be more sparsely attended as a lot of people will probably be at their evening meal if they are doing a table service.

I think the time may not matter so much as the DAY you choose to go. If you go on a weekend, or closer to Xmas Day itself or with a very popular narrator, that may be more telling.

Personally, I like to eat my dinner around the same time everyday. So I'd probably pick a time that worked around when I wanted to eat.

Please forgive me for asking this, but what exactly is the candlelight processional? I take it from reading the other posts that it is a Christmas thing, but still can't figure out exactly what it is. Can someone explain what it is, how much it costs, if any, and what the reservations are for? (Some are saying they are doing a dinner package, and some are not). I apologize for my lack of knowledge here - I am new to this website, and I am learning so much! Thanks for all of your help! :confused3

It's the narrated story of Christmas with a guest speaker large choir and 50 piece orchestra at the American Pavilian in Epcot. It's a beautiful show. The dinner package is a booking for dinner in 1 of the countries in Epcot that allows you to have reserved seats for the show. You can also see the show without reserved seats, but you will be standing in a very long line for quite a while. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Dis.

Thanks LUVMICKEY! The info helps so much! It sounds like something we will want to be there for!

I called yesterday to inquire about CP, and the CM said, "Yes, we are booking them. What date?" So I told her my date, and there was a long pause. I could hear her typing, and she said, "Sorry, my computer is frozen, can you call back and get someone else who can help you right now?" So I did (dialing FAST!) and unfortunately the next CM said no, they weren't booking them yet...urgh! I got so excited! Anyway, while I was on the phone with CM #2, she said, "Do you mean the event at the Fort?" and I said, no, but please tell me about that! She said they were having a Xmas Day event at Fort Wilderness (a ticketed event) but it wasn't bein booked yet either.....anyone have info on THAT? I have not heard of it before?

Thanks!

Jeanette

Just subscribing to this thread. I've never been down during the holidays before, and we do have an ADR at LeCellier on one of the CP nights in December, so I'd be curious to know how to switch to a package as well.

Called and spoke to a very nice CM. Was told that the most recent information they received was that the packages are tentatively being released in early August. She did say to check back early next month to see if an exact release date had been set. She also said to keep checking in as oftern as we liked, as things can change at any time.

Just wanted to share what I read in another CP thread.

Someone called and was told July 31 and that they are holding the release because they are still working on which restaurants will be 1 TS credit and which will be 2 TS credits and of course, setting up the speakers.

Who knows if this is true but I thought I'd share it. :goodvibes

The person I spoke to that answered my two emails about CP indicated that 7/31 was for the Food & Wine Festival and said that these would be released before CP.

She said that there may not be any advance warning either which makes me crazy because when we call in the morning, the first callers may be given incorrect information! Sort of like when the new AP rates are released and some CMs do not bother to really check.

I presume this thread will go on hiatus for a while...August isn't THAT far off...but then again, it's not that CLOSE either. I figure I'll start calling again sometime mid-July and hope for the best.
