Candlelight Processional with 1 yr old?

I've never been during the holidays and would like to see the Candlelight Processional show. But, I'm concerned with whether my 1 yr old will be able to sit still (HA) during it or cause a scene. He's pretty active/antsy as a 7 month old now so I'm a little scared for December to be honest.

I can't find how long the show is. Does anyone know? I see last year it was at 5, 645 and 8:15 pm but wasn't sure how long they save for in between shows getting people in/out etc.

Also, is the dining package worth it or can you wait in line as long as you get there early? I'd be disappointed to miss out but not the end of the world, so I'm on the fence.

Thanks!

The best I remember the program lasts 45 minutes or longer. We did the CP Dining package and had guaranteed seats, but we still had to stand in line before we were let in. The line for people without the dining package was huge, and many of them had to stand for the program. The CP is impressive for adults and older children, but I think it would be very difficult to keep a 1-year old still, quiet, and happy. It probably will be too crowded to let your child get down to walk or play, and when we went, the audience was very quiet and respectful as if in church.

If your child would be unable to sit still for a 30 minute church service, I'd skip it with him. You could stand behind the theater and watch and listen.

I would absolutely NOT do it with a 1 year old. They are either really close to walking or a new walker, and the last thing they will want to do it sit still!

We are going for my DDs 2nd birthday over Christmas and still planning on skipping it.

It lasts about 45 mins once it starts..THAT does not include the time waiting in line ( even if you have a dining pkg there is a wait). If your child can't sit for a 30 min church service ( it is similar to church service) , than skip it.you can see and hear it from the back of the theater

Thanks, everyone! Sounds like we should probably just try to watch it outside like suggested.

Looks like I am the only one who would say go for it. Our boys however have been in church since they were babies and we were use to keeping them still so CP is easy for us. It is harder with a toddler but doable. Absolutely do the plan. Unless it has changed since we did it a few years ago, the line is pretty unstructured and you could hold her hand and let her walk a few steps from the other parent in line without too much disturbance. You could also just wait till the line starts moving and join it, being willing to sit more toward the back.
Pack your bag for the park well that day. Maybe a new book or toy, a snack and her sippy cup should be enough to keep her happy. She will like the lights and music and might even dose off during the reading.

We did it this past November exactly one week before our youngest's first birthday. She did great! She sat in my lap and watched the whole show. I'm sure she had her pacifier, keeping her extra quiet :) We didn't have the package and I had to stand in line for over an hour (not with the kids - the rest of our group was allowed in with us at the stroller parking area), so I think the package would be nice.
