Did anyone else get a survey who has been to it the last few weeks and bought a dining package?
It was asking pretty much the opinion of whether seats should be assigned by order of when you booked it and if your seat assignment should be given to you ahead of time or by e-mail the day of or when you get your sticker at the restaurant or if you prefer the way it is now to line up and pick your seat.

I was there the same night and time as you (11/27 at 8:15), had the dining package, and did not receive the survey. I did get one about my overall stay, the Grand Floridian, etc., but not about this.

We did not do the dining package but were very surprised several days last week to see people in the dining package line with tags 1 1/2 hours before the show. To me that totally defeats idea of buying package. Maybe that is why the survey talks about assigned seating?

I agree with you on this one. Seems like the dinner package line starts earlier and gets longer every year. I have been getting the dinner package every year since 2002, and we would always get in line about 30 minutes early, and would be waiting around the arch in Japan. Last year, we were in Morocco, and this year we were even further back. It is nice to have a guaranteed seat, but it seems like it takes a lot more effort to get that seat now

I did the package on 12/5 but didn't get the survey. I'd prefer not to have assigned seats unless you can specifically choose. I don't like the front section, it's too close. I got what I consider the best area, the second section, 3rd row, center. I got in line about an hour before for the 8:15 Whoopi Goldberg. The line was in front of Japan.

We did the dining package on 12/14. Have not received a survey yet. We arrived for the 5:00 show around 4:15 I believe and they were just letting in the dinner package guests. We got in line in Japan and got great seats! SO thankful we had the dinner package. Highly recommended if you want to see CP.

We did the dining package on 12/8 and received the survey yesterday. In addition to asking when we thought seats should be assigned/chosen, it also showed a diagram of the seating sections and asked us to rank the 16 sections in order of desirability. We had to rank all 16 sections - we tried to just tell it which sections were our 1st & 2nd choice, but it wouldn't let us go to the next page without ranking all 16!

We went to the first night 11/27 the 8:15 pm show. What about you?

We went same night but to the middle show. No survey. Was surprised how long the dinner package line was an hour ahead but got good seats

We were there on the 9th and I got the survey. I was on the fence with the assigned seating based on first booked first choice because who gets to assign my seat? Me or Disney? What is a desirable seat to me may not be someone elses idea of ideal.

I do agree that there needs to be some sort of change though. The cost of the dining package is supposed to minimize the anxiety of getting in that line but the reality is that you still need to beat feet to the holding area if you want to be sure you get a good choice of seat.

I wish I did get this! We had a very nice but expensive lunch and had to line up around 3:45 for a 5:00 show. We were let in at 4 so at least we could sit but I would have rather spent that time enjoying a drink or desert with my husband

If seats are assigned obstructed views need to be considered. Not hard but would take a bit more forethought.

We went on 12/4 and we have not gotten a survey. I would not want them picking my seats. Some of the views are obstructed by the trees

I got the survey. I don't want assigned seats and told them that. It will be interesting to see what happens.
