Hi all - So right now I have booked a dinner package for the CP - but I am wondering - is it going to be worth it two use two dining credits for this?

Meaning that we are going to have to pay out of pocket for a different meal?
Our Celebrity Guest is Dennis Hasbert - the only thing I know about him is he is the AllState guy....so how crowded do you think this will be?

Granted - he has a great voice - but I don't know if he has the star attraction of say NPH ...

what do you all think?

Thanks

Dennis Haysbert is a really good actor... and he has an amazing voice. I think it will be wonderful for CP. He did voice work in Wreck It Ralph, was in The Unit (which I loved), was the President in 24, and much more. I would see him for sure.

I am guessing your question is whether you need to book the dinner package or can you walk up and get a seat without using the FD. In the past, it really depended on whom the speaker was and how early you get there. If you want a guaranteed seat, then go with the dinner. I would love to see him, he has a great voice for the event.

We went twice when we were there and were able to get a seat both times. Never used the dinner package, but were there about 90 minutes early and there were people in line ahead of us. I think it would have been much easier to have reserved seats and enjoy a nice dinner. The difference is that we were not on the dining plan. If we were, I would happily pay for a CS meal if it meant not having to wait in line and enjoy dinner with the family.

I guess I am saying that yes, it is worth it in my opinion to do the dinner package.

I think he would be a great reader - I know him only from the AllState commercials- as I never watched the Unit or 24 ....I think he would be worth seeing but is it worth 2 TS credits to book the package? That is my worry - because now we will have to pay out of pocket for one of our other reservations and I just wasn't sure it it would be worth it in that respect...or would it be better to wait in line to see him? Our reservation is for a Friday so it will probably be busier but I don't know - just trying to figure out whether it was really worth the cost to book the package or if I should just chance it standing in line....

I would book the package, especially on a weekend night (Friday included). CP is a very popular event and it is worth seeing from within the theater. Waiting in line is not my thing and that line can get LONG. If it was in the budget I'd pay out of pocket for a meal but that's just me :)

We always get the package and have never been sorry we did!

great thanks - I will do that! I figured it would be a very pretty and christmasy type of thing to experience so ....

We did the CP dinner package a couple of years ago and were very glad we did. We had dinner at Chefs de France, then went to get in line for the last show and had to stand in line waiting in the rain to get in (the prior show was still going on). When we were let in, we were able to get seats under cover and out of the rain. :) I felt badly for the people with no cover.

Thank you! I hadn't thought of the possibility of rain - but definitely would rather be inside than out if that is the case :)

My friend and I did the Candlelight Processional last year and it was our favorite event of the whole week. We had Andy Garcia (actor best know for his Ocean's 11, 12, 13) role and he was terrific. But the music will touch your soul and that is priceless. We ate at the Japanese Restaurant in Epcot and had a nice meal. We did not get in line until 10 minutes before seating. There were just the 2 of us and we were able to find an excellent spot without the long wait. On our evening I don't think that the let in more than 25% of the seating to those waiting. The other 75% was reserved for those who had the dining plan.

My opinion, so very worth it, especially if you can have a nice meal before.:thumbsup2

I'm so glad to read all the responses. Were doing that very same show with the same actor on Thursday evening after eating at Garden Grill. I am so excited!!!
