Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

For the life of me I don't get why Disney has to be so dang clandestine about this...I mean seriously, why do they want to make this so difficult for people to plan to come to their enterprise and spend a TON of money??? It is the inconsistency of an answer that mystifies me. All it would take would be a memo to all employees at the start of their day telling them the status of issues such as this.

I don't care what the answer is Disney, just make it consistent!

Mine too.. But atleast it is more of a complete list.. I am going to say that it is getting close to booking date or it wouldn't be anywhere near this organized.

Totally agree! I don't care if they release the package on September 1st. If they could just tell me the date then I wouldn't bother the poor CM's until they are getting their overtime for answering my call:cool1:

Oh well, Greg said to keep calling every day and that is what I will do. I told him it was like the lottery except for the fact that I am pretty sure I will win one day:lmao:

I really do not care who the speaker is....I want to see the program. :lmao:Just release the ADR's already!

Did I read correctly that someone was told they could convert a normal ADR to the CP package? If that is the case this year then I will not stress so much since I have an ADR for France already.

You can't convert a regular reservation to a CP package, it'd need to be rebooked.

I've never seen the Candelight Processional. Do those of you who have seen it before think it's worth spending 2 table service credits on? I'd probably do it if I could get Le Cellier for dinner, although I'm not keen on the idea of still having to stand in line for 1 1/2 hours even with the priority seating...

ETA: I was told "end of July" today when I called for a different request.

DH and I went last year and I don't remember standing in line for an hour and a half. Is the wait really that long?

Here's a little nugget of information. As always, take it with a grain of salt...

I JUST got off the phone with Disney (I needed to make a slight change to my tickets before the rumored/yearly upcoming price increase) and I casually asked about CP. The woman on the phone did not have any updated info and she thought it was odd too that is was so late.

So, she asked me to hold, and went to check. When she came back on the phone, she said that Disney was offering overtime to their reservation cast members the 2nd & 3rd week of August and she stated that they do not offer OT unless there is something big going on. She guessed that maybe CP would not be released until that time (thus the need for additional CM's).

Anyway, again, take it for what it's worth. I just thought I would share.

Happy Planning!

Please say this isn't so-I am so tired of getting up early every morning to call-but I can not stand the stress of not getting up early to check...I don't mind waiting until August if they would just give us a definite date:sad1:

I agree! This getting to sleep at 4 AM and getting up before 7 AM to check for the CP is getting very old! :confused3:rotfl:

Just curious about something.

It seems many of my fellow DISers are rising early to try to get the CPP. I wonder what dates people are trying to book. We're going on December 30, and I guess I just assume we'll get it since the Christmas holiday will be over by then. :confused3

I figure that I get auto-notifications of this thread, so if someone posts that they were able to book, I'll be notified and can make the call.

I by no means think it's wrong for those of you calling daily to do so; I just don't feel the pressure to do so, and I'm wondering if that's because I'm being naive or if people's travel dates are influencing that choice.

We will only be in WDW for the first CP night on 11/26-so only have 3 possible shows to book and the most difficult part: they want Le Cellier or Teppan Edo:eek:so, either I'm the miracle worker or the villain in this family...:rotfl:

I hadn't thought of the restriction of restaurant choice. We want Chefs de France, but being there the last night of the CP only (travel dates Dec 30-Jan 9) also limits us to three shows. However, we're flexible with restaurants (pretty much any place but Garden Grill or Nine Dragons).

Nine Dragons was the ONLY restaurant available when I booked last year-I'd rather skip the package and eat a funnel cake in the rain than eat there again!!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

I echo that thought. We've got a list of about 4 or 5 restaurants we'd be willing to do for the package, but Nine Dragons is definitely not one of them! :)

Yikes! I really hope that it doesn't open up the second week of August. We will be camping in West Virginia with VERY spotty cell phone service!! I'm going to have to drive to the lodge every morning at 7am:scared1: Please, Disney say it isn't so!

I want to book the CP package for 12/5 - first choice is LeCellier, then Tutto Italia, or Biergarten.

I am religiously calling in every day because we have never seen the CP, we won't be in WDW for another few years and one of my sons is absolutely enthralled with going. If I can keep the rest of the family happy with a tasty dinner and the ability to avoid long lines, I can make everyone happy:goodvibes
