Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

I agree with everyone's frustrations. I am taking my parents and siblings for their first christmas at Disney. We are only doing 2 TS and the rest of our meals are going to be CS or made in our room. So far I have Hoop Dee Doo booked for my mom's 50th bday present and I really want a CP package since I enjoyed the package last year.

I'm worried that with all this waiting it will be extremely difficult to get one.

I am also worried about the long wait creating more of a panic/demand for the package. I am trying to relax in the knowledge that so many ressies have been set aside for the CP and that I know Disney wants my extra $$ or two TS credits badly enough that it will probably work out. But come on already Disney, release the date....:rolleyes1

THE WAITING IS KILLING ME!!!!!!!:figment:

We extended our stay based on the recently gained info that Steven Curtis Chapman will be there Dec. 12th... THAT IS WONDERFUL MAGICAL HAPPY NEWS!!!

THe problem is our wonderful TA Beth from DU has been trying and trying to no avail to get us ANY reservations at LeCellier during the time we are there from Dec. 3 - 13th.. The pinnacle of the trip would be to get LeCellier for the CLP package on the 12th!!
:santa:

So here I sit - and wait..... and wait..... and wait..... and wait..... :rolleyes1

Unless your TA is willing to be on the phone at 7am est when the packages are released I would hedge my bets and try to book it yourself if it is that important to you. There were dates at Le Cellier available during your dates, your TA just didnt call soon enough to get them. We are there the 20th through the 26 and we are eating at Le Cellier twice during our stay. If you get two you can always cancel it. I was told that the reservations that are being held are during more off times. Last year we ate dinner at 4 to get the candlelight.

I'm trying to get Coral Reef on 12/28 or 12/29 and EVERYTHING is full--guessing for the package. Does anyone know how soon they would release tables in general? My 180 mark was yesterday, and the only places full for that period where the ones used for the package. Just not sure when I should start looking. Thanks!

Have you tried looking for a late dinner time? Even the 8:15 show dinner package requires a fairly early dinner. Start looking for 6:30 & every 30 minutes later until you find some openings.

If could also be the size of your party. Sometimes trying to find tables for 2 or three can be difficult I would try different sizes just to see if anything is available. Remember also the last CP is at 8:15 so you couldnt eat later than 7 so there wont be any candlelight packages after 7 or 7:30 so all these times wouldnt have been held. For the early show it is lunch tables held (lunch around 2).

No, Coral Reef is booked from 5:30-9:30 from 12/28-12/30!!! We're a party of 4, so that couldn't be it--I'm just sort of guessing that they're holding tables--we booked Chefs and Marakesh for those days, but could have gotten ANY other restaurant except those 3 or 4 for the package. Maybe I'll keep checking when you guys can do the package and start checking then. I would have anticipated this for Le Cellier (which I easily got for 1/1) but was just surprised for Coral Reef. Thanks!

That is surprising but there isnt any CP packages after 7 or 7:30 because the last show is at 8:15 and you have to eat and get your tickets, get in line before that time.

I agree with ms mouse. It has to be something other than tables being held for CPP because nothing is showing available way beyond dinner time for the show package. Sometimes not all restaurants load into the system correctly each day. I would continue trying. If not later today then tomorrow and so on. I think it is some kind of glitch.

There are definitely glitches in the system. Last night someone said that they couldn't get Ohana's for dinner at all Jan 2 - Jan 6. I checked online, and couldn't get it either.

Then I checked for openings earlier than January 2nd. I went back straight through and included New Years Day, Eve, and Christmas Day - EVERY one of those days had openings.

That right there told me that the Jan 2 - Jan 6th has to be a computer glitches for 'Ohana. It's likely you're running into glitches for Coral Reef as well.

can you share the source of your info about Steven Curtis Chapman? Is this the only day he will be there, usually the cp narrarators are there for a min. of 2 days etc.

I would love to see him. We are there Dec 7 and leaving on the 12th.

I have a lunch reservation for Le Cellier for the 8th but I am cancelling that if I get a good cp pkg. with narrarator.

Thanks for any info.

I saw it first on one of the boards but then I checked the website and it is there so I'm sure! :)

Looks like he is there 12th - 15th

On page 69 of the Dec 2010 thread I found this....

Uh-oh, what do you make of the fact that it doesn't say anything about narrators on the dates of 11/29-12/06? I'll be traveling 12/01-12/05...I wonder if they're just not sure of those days or what :confused3

Anyway, I talked to a CM last night on the phone and he had received and e-mail that said that the dinner package will be available to book and the end of July/Early August...too long of a wait if he's right

I talked to a CM in dining a couple of days ago and she said that they had gotten an email this past week that the packages should be ready by the 3 week of July, 4th week at the very latest.

If true, I'd expect the whole narrator list to be out in the next week or so...

It's driving me nuts, too because I'm trying to plan our Christmas week ADRs around it....ugh!!!

This sounds very similar to last year's list-did anyone see Isabella Rossellini last year? We saw Whoppi last year-she was great!

The wait is killing me... I want to book my ADR... First time going during holidays and cannot wait! Going with DD13 who LOVES characters. Would Garden Grill be good?:confused3

I'm a little stuck on where to go too. At first, I thought that Biergarten would be nice but everywhere I've looked shows that Tier 1 is only $15 cheaper for Tier 3. Somehow I can justify spending $60 to eat at the Tier 3 restaurants if it includes appetizer, entree, dessert AND the preferred seating but with the Tier 1 restaurants, which are both buffets, I feel like you're paying a lot since the buffets don't cost near $45.00. Does anyone else feel the same way??

Also, can you eat at any time for the show. Obviously if you book a lunch ressie, you watch the 5:00 show, but like, are there cut off times for when your dinner ressie has to be in order to see the 6:45 or 8:15 shows??

Thanks in advance peeps ;)

Good point about the cost... I did not realize that the cost of dining at Garden Grill would be so much more... I guess I have to do more homework. What do you guys think about Tepan Edo? I was thinking Garden Grill because of characters not sure I want to pay $45 for that.

cuddleworthy - I don't remember the exact time frames for ADRs from last year but you do have to eat before the show you attend. We had 5:15 pm ADR for Coral Reef to go to the 8:15 show. We could have booked a little later but that is a l-o-n-g walk over to the CP and I did not want to chance having a problem if we weren't seated right away etc. We had plenty of time.
