Do they release the dates/narrators beforehand or do they release the dates/narrators on the same day that you can start calling for reservations?

Do certain restaurants have more seats than others set aside for the dinner packages?

Also, where does the name come from? From the description of this event on allearsnet, there doesn't seem to be any candles or a processional! Or did I miss something in the description?

Thanks for any info!:santa:

1. Usually, you get a little notice as to the narrators before the packages go on sale (last year it was only about a week's notice) but the list would be tentative and can and does change before Nov/Dec. A CM on the DIS says they'll go on sale July 2 this year. We'll see.

2. I do not know.

3. They do hold fake candles and they procession into the stadium, onto the stage.

The 400 member choir processes in from the isles with battery operated candles which are lit during the entire performance - it is quite beautiful and very moving. I love the fact that Disney isn't afraid to celebrate a christian and really catholic holiday as they do read the famous Christmas story from the Gospel according to Luke without any worry of political correctness. Disney does Christmas right.

Amen!

PS I remember we came home after our first CP. We got a call from WDW asking us if we enjoyed the show and sort of hinted that they were wondering if we found it offensive with the biblical content. :rotfl2:

I guess they called enough people like us, CP is alive and doing well! :thumbsup2

I could not agree more. The fact that Disney celebrates the wonder of Christmas in this way makes me love WDW all the more.

And Hallelujah - that's amazing Muushka. How many years ago was that? Thanks for for giving it the :thumbsup2. As a catholic, I am proud of the fact that Disney does what they do without hesitation. I would think that they did get some flack in the beginning but after so many years - the complainers probably just gave up.

I think it was around 1996 or so. It was a strange call, but I am so glad they got feedback prior to making any decisions about canceling it (which is what she said they were considering doing, if you can believe that!).
