Candlelight Processional Dinner Package ??

I did California Grill and Flying Fish. She did ask me where I was staying though and if I had a confirmation number on my reservation which I thought was odd.

I did not ask for any character meal or any restaurant inside a park. I got the impression that the system is being updated continually and if you called 6 different times you would get 6 different responses.

Before our May visit I had made 5 PS's in April. When I called to change one two weeks prior to our visit there was no record of any of them. In fact I was told they had all been specifically cancelled!!!!!!! Since two of these were in celebration of my son's b'day I insisted on speaking with a manager who did reinstate those two. It was all very strange.

I can only imagine what I will hear when I try for an Illumination Cruise . . . . . ?

The new PS rule is 90 days out for all but a very few places (Hoop Dee Do, etc), and I'm willing to wait until that point to make my PSs. But I'll be upset if I call at 7:00am at exactly 90 days out and I can't get the restaurants I want (not doing CRT, so that's not an issue) because they were booked up in advance...:(

Are there consistently two shows per evenning and are the times consistent ? I think a dinner after an earlier show is a fab idea. Also with the dinner package how soon do you need to que up for the show ? I have heard that the reserved seating is in the center - front rows, no obstructed views, is that everyone's experience ? I am going in early December supposedly the crowds are thinner. But everyone at Disney at this time is probably going to this show and the VMCP.

We didn't realize that the CP package only guarantees you a seat, but not necessarily a good one. A lot of the good seats seemed to be taken by family members of the performers. And the line was very very long to get in...

The performance was good, but I don't think I'd do it again to tell the truth...

There are usually 3 shows per night - 5:00, 6:45, 8:15. Each show is about 45 minutes.

Even with the package, I would get in line at least 30 minutes before. As Erickarate said, not all reserved seats are upfront. We were in the second section last year. We got there about 15-20 minutes before. We got held up by the ToN parade entering by Morocco.

We went to the first show on Nov. 30, 2001 (our arrival day at the world) we had made a bad mistake to go to MK for a few hours before heading to Epcot. Well needless to say the other family we were on vacation with had a severly spoiled 4 yo (threw herself to the ground screaming to go on the carousel) who kept us for leaving as planned to go over to Epcot so we had to speedwalk (literally) to get to the show. Well it was just starting and we got front row seats! My DD who was only 3 at the time managed to sleep thru just about the whole thing. And we were right in front of the percushionist (sp?). Must have been because we were up at 3:30am for our flight out.

The seats were not bad, but Robbie Benson was amazing. My older DD loved the show. Not sure if we are going to do it again this trip, gotta feel DH out about it.

We did eat at Garden Grill for dinner after the show and it worked out great. Had plenty of time to get a spot for Illuminations after dinner. If we do go this year we will be dinning at LeCellier, DH favorite place to eat.

do they let you reserve a PS time for after the 5p show or did you just have a separate PS for Garden Grill & went to the 1st CP on your own?

NavyDotz,

when you call to make your ressie for CP you have to tell them what show you want to go to and they will then ask you for what restaurant you want and they will give you dining times to choose from.

As long as you know where you want to eat and what show you want to attend they will tell you times they recommend for dinner. You just have to remember to allow walking time from the show to your restaurant and not to cut it too close. Rushing is no fun.

If I remember correctly you will be given a ps# also for your dinner ressie and both are linked together.
