First of all I was told by CM that the speakers at the CP will be announced on July 31 (anyone else here this) also I was going to go ahead and book my dinner for that night in epcot and then turn it into a dinner package once the packages were announced but the CM said to wait until the packages are priced and announce because it is hard to change a regular ADR to a Package! Anyone else heard of this or think I need to go head and book a dinner for that night just to be sure?? Thanks!!

I already booked my dinner without the package and will change once the packages are released. This way if they don't have a table for me with the package at least I have a booking. I do not see where it would be so hard to convert an excisting reservations to a package. This is the 20th century with computer techology.

If you think you may not get the CP package if your choice of restaurant isn't available with the package, then go ahead and get a non-package ADR for that restaurant. You can get the package and cancel the ADR if the restaurant is available when the packages are released, and you'll have the ADR if the restaurant isn't available with the package. You aren't actually converting the ADR since the packages are completely separate from non-package ADRs, which is probably what the CM was trying to say.

If you are for sure getting a CP package even if your first choice of restaurant isn't available, there's no advantage to getting a non-package ADR now since it won't help you get a package and you'll just end up cancelling it when you book the package. Sounds like that's why the CM discouraged you from making an ADR now.

As for package release dates, I've been hearing late July or early August, which is consistent with past years. Hadn't heard an exact date though.

Hope that helps!

Just called and was told that the packages would not be released until mid-August, but to check back in mid-July for a more definite date.

I made all my ADR's in advance, then will see if I can convert them (but was told probably not) to a CP package.

Coral reef, le cellier, bistro de paris, etc. There's another post going on with the names of the narrators who have been released already.

The regular reservation will not be able to be converted to a package reservation.

But perhaps you can book a package and then cancel the existing reservation?

i agree w/beattyfamily. i was told a regular ADR could not be converted to CP dinner package. good luck!

I was told by quite a few Disney Dining cast members and WDW veterans that it is possible and has been done in the past. I guess we shall see. :confused3

Yes, we'll see but from my experience with CP (having done it a few times) and with the Fantasmic packages (booking a regular ADR and then wanting the package when they're released) its not possible; they made me cancel my regular ADR and then they booked the package for me.

But we shall see.

In the past, Bistro de Paris has not been a participating restaurant for the CP although Chefs is.

Garden Grill, San Angel, Chefs, Le Cellier, Alfredo's....not sure about Marrakesh and Teppanyaki? Anyway it has been most if not all of the Epcot full service restaurants except Le Bistro de Paris.
