Has anyone tried it and thought is was really worth it? Is the special seating good?

We haven't tried it yet, we will be this year.

It isn't special seating, it's a guaranteed seat. The theater holds a certain # of people, I don't know how many, but I'm sure it's a lot. The people with the dinner package are let in first, and then after they're in, the regular line is let in.

The way I look at it is that we have to eat dinner anyway, and the list of restaurants is (or has been in the past) quite extensive, and I'm sure wherever we'd normally eat that night is on the list.

It was the highlight of our Xmas week trip 2006. We were on the Dining Plan and had a 4:00 dinner at Le Cellier and then saw the 2nd performance of the CP with Gary Sinise.

Even sitting in the rain under umbrellas, it was wonderful.

Need to convince the family to go back one of these Christmases...

CP Dinner Package each year since 1998 and it is worth every penny in our opinion. You get a good seat for CP without queing up 2 hours in advance. You get a great dinner and the seating is like a bonus. You can see the CP without package but it can be hassle and take up a bunch of touring time standing in line.So if you are planning on a nice sit down meal might as well go for package.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Danny PS Will be doing CP Dinner Package this year.

We did the Dinner Package in Dec and I think it was worth it. BUT... we did have to line up about an hour before...even WITH the guaranteed seating! People were lining up even BEFORE we got to dinner! It was crazy!

I have never done the dinner package but I would highly recommend it if you would like a seat for the show. I called in August to book the package for my December '07 trip and they didn't have openings at any restaurants left for the night we were going to be there. My boyfriend and I ended up watching from outside the theater and it was still wonderful but next time I plan on calling as soon as I possibly can.

It's not special seating, but depending on the date & time you want, it may be the only seating. Booking the package is definitely better than taking your chances standby.

ABSOLUTELY worth it!! We did it the first week of December in 2007. You do need to line up 45 before seating begins. They told us 30 minutes, but we walked by a line of about 200 people 45 minutes before, so we got in line.

It could be considered special seeting. When we purchased it for Nov 2007 and were let in, they were also letting in standby guests. They were stopping the standbuy guests at a certain point and pointing them to seats further back while package guests were still being seated closer to the front. I guess if you are arriving just before the show as part of the package, you would still be seated at the back of the theater, but if you get there early the seating is better than you can ever get with standby.

We have done it for several years now. For us it is a special night out at EPCOT. A wonderful dinner and then fantastic seating for the Candlelight Procession.

Its worth it, especially if you are on the dining plan. We never are but always go. We only do a Tier 1 restraunt, the cheapest, twice we have done Garden Grill and once Biergarten. This past year we did Garden Grill. Another poster figured out the most economical choice was a late lunch at Garden Grill which is what we got. This year the stand by line was huge. The narrarator was the guy from dancing with the stars and also played j. peterman on seinfeld. We saw him the year before too. But this year we got there a little late and the overflow seating was really filled up too. This is the lst year that a cm actually didnt guide us toward seating up front. It ended up we finally sat in the rows for the sign language interpretation. I am half deaf anyway but I dont sign but our whole family found it fascinating to watch the interpretations of the music etc. So finish eating your meal (you have to eat lst), then line up for the show asap to get good seating. Also another year I noticed they were holding seats, not for people with packages (they give you a badge/sticky label to put on yourself for this) but it seemed like these were special guests of performers etc. Not a few but we saw a lot. You can watch from the distant, the music is good but the view is not.

Every time I've gone to the CP, it's been with the dinner package. Last time, they changed the rules, so that you had to eat PRIOR to the show. I liked the option of dining after, but oh well. I get to the theater early (and am usually close to the front of the line) and have gotten great seats (except for the one time I listened to a CM who told me it was better to sit way in the back. It rained 1/2 way through the show and I was soaked and freezing by the time it was done).
