Where can I learn more about these? I've read just little bits and pieces, and don't have a full understanding of what, when and where they are. I'm going to WDW from December 17-26 and I'm guessing these are something I want to see. Could someone please point me to information about them? Also any general advice about them? Thanks

I have never done the Osborne lights , but the candlelight processional is fabulous. We have seen in twice and both times gave my goosebumps.

try allearsnet.com
or the disney.com
you may even try google and put in Disney's candlelight processional.
I can't remember where I got all the info last time.

Osbourne lights are awesome! they take something like 5 million lights and string them all over the New York backstage at MGM. they also make it "snow" with some kind of suds machines on top of all the buildings so it looks like you are in the middle of new york on a very snowy day at christmas! Most defininately a MUST DO!

I too was going to post those two links. Both are a must see if you are visiting that time of year since they are only available for about 5 weeks. The candelight processional is probably the best Christmas Program ever and despite my initial skepticisim the Osborne Lights are heart stopping. I was in total awe of the amount of lights and reduced to tears at just the beauty of it all. I would highly recommend anyone visit during the holiday season!

Do NOT miss the Candlelight Processional, it is awesome! We went the first time this past year and are going to make it an annual tradition from now on.

We saw the Osborne Family Lights in December 2000. At that time, they were set up on the backstage houses and yards at MGM. It was like walking through a neighborhood, and we enjoyed seeing how the Osbornes' decorations had started out being kind of tacky and homemade - and then got fancier as the years went by. I'll withhold judgment on the new setup until after I've seen it for myself this coming December. If you want to know more about The Osborne Family, and how their lights came to be at Disney World, check out this link:

P.S. Here's another site I found that explained why the Osborne Lights weren't on display in 2003. I didn't realize that the "neighborhood" I so fondly remembered had actually been dismantled to make room for the new stunt show arena.
