pirate: We went to Disneyland earlier this year during Easter and thought of going back in early December to take advantage of the free night at a DLR hotel. We will probably be going somewhere around Dec. 3rd or 4th and staying until the 8th or 9th. Now here are my ??? Having never been there around this time frame I was wondering if they will have the fireworks during our stay? Also when do they announce when they will have the Candlelight Processional? Also does anyone know if they will have Fantasmic during our stay? And last but not least where is the Christmas Parade going to be running? I think I read somewhere that they may be moving it over to DCA.. 1 more thing, we last stayed at the Paradise Pier during Easter and even though we had read some not so great posts about this hotel we thought it was a lot better than when we last stayed there when it was under another name which was back in 97. Does anyone think the Grand Californian Concierge is worth it and why? We last stayed there in 2003 in a standard room and liked it but it is a lot more than say a standard at the DLH or the PPH. Kind of want to surprise my wife since it will more than likely just be the 2 of us. Any suggestions? Sorry so Loooong!!!! Thanks, Chip.

bump :goodvibes
I'd love to know when they release info on the candlelight processional too :) Thanks, you guys are the BEST :wave2:

I called a few weeks ago about the CP and was told to call back in September. I will be there Dec. 8-11 and am hoping to be able to see it.

Okay, I think the Candlelight processional is usually the first weekend in December. Yes, they will have fireworks somewhere. No one is sure if they will have the Christmas fireworks or the current 50th anniversary version but they'll have fireworks on the weekends I'm sure. The Christmas parade is rumoured to be going to California Adventure Park but I don't think anything official is known yet.
I don't have any answers for your other questions, but I'm sure one of our friends here will!
It's an amazing time of the year to be there! I was there for 6 days last December and I loved it!!

Candlelight processional is usually first or second weekend in december. Remember Candlelight processional is not like WDWs. DLs candlelight processional started out at DL for CMs, and it still remains to be the main focus. Most of the tickets are given to the CMS, with the remainder being released to the public. For a few years they had it in the Fantasyland theater, but moved it back to the trainstation last year. You can line up along the parade route and watch them come singing down mainstreet, and if you're in the area you will be able to hear it, but the main areas are blocked off for those with tickets. The tickets available to the public are usually given out early that morning.

Unfortunately this is a special year, so it's hard to tell exactly what events they will keep and what events they will not. In previous years, they have moved the main parade to be during the day, and had the christmas parade at night (thus they would only show Parade of dreams once) (or vice versa). One rumor is to move it to DCA, but then they'd have to work it between block party bash and electric parade (on weekends). I hope they do not forgo the christmas parade entirely.

If fantasmic is showing it will probably only be on the weekends, and I'm not even sure if it will continue to show. In the past DL has alternated having either Fantasmic or Fireworks showing on weekends only on the off season, usually not both.

Well rumor now it has it on other boards that candlelight will be more than one weekend this year :jumping1: and unfortunately it will return to the fantasyland theater.

Just have to echo what cmwade77 said. I have heard (via other sites) that it will like be two weekends in December (my guess the frist and second weekends) and that it will be in the Fantasyland Theater this year.

As for Fantasmic, that is hard to judge. In previous years they haven't had it in off season. This past year they did because they didn't have fireworks. My guess is that they are going to be having fireworks, so probably not fantasmic, at least not until the weeks surrounding Christmas/New Years Eve.

This past year they had Fantasmic because it didn't need rehab, in previous years it went down for rehab in the off season (river being drained, columbia going down for months at a time, etc.) Clumbia is scheduled for a 2-4week rehab this year, outside of that it should at least run on weekends in the off season.

just a bump... :Pinkbounc

Has anyone heard of the dates yet? I was hoping due to the 50th they would have this during the week as well... guess we'll see! :flower:

I checked the Disney calender (on disneyland.disney.go.com) and for November 18th it has that the "Christmas Fantasy Parade" will be in Disneyland at 5:15pm and 7:45pm.

I don't know how accurate this is, it says "subject to change", but it is an official disney site. It also doesn't mention where in Disneyland.

December 3 & 4 - Dick Van **** as host
Wow! Thanks! :wave2: I see the site has the event dates up thru November, but December's dates aren't published yet :guilty:

That makes it doubly hard for those of us who want to plan! ;)

Does anyone know what time this event begins and ends? Thanks!

I here you about not being able to plan. We got hotel reservations and plane tickets long before the info was up about the dates we are going in November.

It turns out we'll be there the first day of the Christmas parade, not what we planned (more crowded) but it will be fun to see the parade.

I was there last year during the weekend the Candlelight Processional was supposed to take place and one of the nights it was cancelled due to the weather. Just an FYI for those of you planning to go that the weather gods have a say so too!

So, if they do the Candlelight Processional like they have every other year, how do you get tickets?

EDIT: Another question...does the park close early to anyone without tickets to the Processional? I'm getting nervous now! Can someone please tell me how all of this works?

I have always wanted to attend one of these. I just have never known what date. Ive been there many times on these nights and it looks beautiful.

This might seem like a stupid question, I have always wanted to attend but I really have no clue as to what it is?

I keep checking, but there are no park hours or parade schedules listed on the official DL site yet... Looks like they are behind WDW.

Hey yeah, I want to know to. We will be there the first weekend of Dec. Whats it like, how do we get tickets and does it affect whats going on in the rest of the park (early closing to those without tickets?, fireowrks, etc not showing?). Please fill us in. Inquiring minds want to know.
