Candlelight Processional 2016

If you watch from outside the theater (and it's not a really popular narrator), can you see and hear okay?

You can hear fine, but seeing will depend on how many others are standing back there. AND you are standing, so it's not quite as comfortable. We went many, many years ago and grabbed a table over at The Liberty Inn that is right across from the stage. We could hear everything, but couldn't see much. Our boys were little then and we didn't want to wait in line, so that worked well enough for us.

If you do a lunch you will be assigned an earlier time for the show. Definitely do the dining package.

Last year, this was not true. They let you choose the show you wanted to see no matter what time you were eating. I would assume this continues this year.

Oh this is great to hear! We want to do lunch since we will be paying OOP - CRT will already be gobbling up to TS credits, and we don't want to use 2 more on one meal. We wanted to do a later show, but figured since we would have lunch it would be the first showing!

We didn't get to pick our show last year. I didn't mind-we wanted the earlier show.

No you can't convert it.
I don't understand why it can't be converted. I hit 180 days out from my trip yesterday so we made all our reservations including dinner the day we are going to Epcot for the cp. I saw the time slots depending on which showing you are planning to attend so I picked a time for the last show. So I still have to call Disney to get the cp package even tho I already booked my reservation? This is my first time planning a Disney trip on my own so I'm confused lol.

The CP pkg is a different reservation from a regular dinner reservation. You WILL have to call and book the pkg when it becomes available. The system won't let you just go to your existing reservation and make it a CP pkg reservation. Each restaurant only has X number of slots available for the pkg reservations. You may want to cancel the one you've already made unless you will eat there with or without the CP pkg.

Should I just keep the reservation and then call to get the same restaurant when they release the packages and narrators? It's my husband's forts trip to Disney so I am trying to make sure he gets to do all of the fun Christmas stuff.

If you want to do the package, there's no reason to keep the reservation.

Can't wait for the schedule of narrators to come out. Also, the dining package is the way to go for the CP.

I can't wait until the packages come out and we can book! This is something I'm really, really looking forward to.

I was able to choose a show time when I called and booked last year, vs. booking online. Don't forget, you can also do the Garden Grill breakfast with the package. That is good if paying OOP. As a DVC member, I did a split stay last year starting with just one night at AKV. We added DlxDP to that one night and used the 3 credits for Minnie's Holiday Dine F! package (1 credit) and the CP package at Chefs de France (2 credits).

This is our first year to go to Disney around Christmas, and will be there 15-22. We plan on going to the CP on the 17th. We will be paying OOP for the dining package...does anyone recommend which restaurant to do?? We have only eaten at Akershus in Epcot...so we have no idea which is best! We were thinking German...but I just don't know! Would love some opinions!

When the processional packages go on sale, are you able to book them through My Disney Experience or do you need to call? And how quick do they sell out? thank you!

You can book them online or on the app - they will show the available dates and times.

It's hard to say how quickly they sell out. Some dates are more popular than others, due to the date itself or the narrator if s/he is announced. (i.e.: Neil Patrick Harris has been very popular and sells out much faster than someone like Daniel Dae Kim). It also depends on the restaurant selected, as some places are more popular than others to eat at. No matter where you eat, you'll have a fabulous meal and a wonderful experience. Every narrator we've had we've enjoyed. :D

I don't know if you'll be able to book through MDE, but how quickly they sell out (or if they sell out) will most likely depend on the narrator and the date. For instance, Neil Patrick Harris almost always does it and he's very popular, so his dates will probably sell out and sell out quickly. Dates closer to Christmas are also more likely to sell out. I wouldn't expect all dates to sell out, though.

Your meal includes an appetizer, main course and dessert -- so I highly recommend looking at the menus and determining what looks good to you! Usually you can have "free range" of the menu and pick one item from each category. Everyone here will give you a different opinion as to what is their favorite, but start with narrowing down options. If you like Sushi, then Tokyo Dining. If you want to eat fish, then do the Coral Reef. If you're looking for a filling meal then maybe choose Nine Dragons. I prefer to eat near the entrance to the line, so somewhere between France (Chefs de France), Morocco (Restaurant Marrakesh), Japan (Tokyo Dining), or Italy (Via Napolli) may be a better choice than going all the way to Coral Reef by the Nemo Ride or Mexico which is about .5 miles away at the entrance of World Showcase.

You can't go wrong with anything selected -- all restaurants are good. Just pick one and try something new :D
