We can only do one of the other, which one do you suggest?????

Oh what a decision! I love them both. The lights are nice if you just want to spend 20 minutes or so wandering around and gazing at all of the beautiful lights. The Processional is a beautiful show but is approx 40 minutes long and you usually have to wait in a fairly long line (up to 45 minutes before the show) to get in (some people don't get in even after waiting in line). I think it depends on how much time you want to spend.

I agree it depends on how much you want to spend. The Osborne Lights is free since you just walk the streets in MGM that are set up with them (of course you need park admission). The Candlelight Processional is free if you stand in line to wait to get in, but like posed before you may not get in. If you purchase a Candlelight Processional Package you will get a seat at the processional and a dinner reservation for before the show. They started booking these packages today and you may have a long wait on the phone. We just got our package but I started calling at 6AM when they opened.

We have seen the lights and can't wait to see them again - they are beautiful. This will be our first Candlelight Processional so I can't comment on that - have just been told it is wonderful.

I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose. pixiedust:

Depends on budget.
Osborne Spectacle of Lights is free and takes less time
Candlelight Processional costs, is longer, and takes waiting time.

Will you have children with you? I suggest the lights if you do. They are really unforgettable and made the trip for us.

Actually they are both free. Candlelight Processional only costs money if you're paying for the Dinner Package (with which you get a guaranteed seat). But it's free to wait in line to see the show or watch the show standing from behind the theater.

True. While some kids do like the Processional I thought it was boring the first time we went in 2001 (I was 19 so I imagine I would have been really bored if I was younger). When we went last year I had so much more of an appreciation for it. The Osborne Lights are more "active" (you're free to walk around as fast/slow as you want and for as long as you want).

The Candlelight Processional is a very powerful and beautiful retelling of the Christmas Story (you know--the ORIGINAL Christmas Story). The music is phenomenal!!!!
The Osborne Lights are cool and you'll not likely ever see so many lights all in one place anywhere else.
It's not a decision I'd want to have to make, but I would choose the CP unless I had little kids. Even my 11 year old and my 14 year old loved it. My 16 year old was not going to be happy no matter what we did (unless it was a roller coaster!)

They are both great--just different activities for the Christmas season. My DDs 8 & 13 loved them both. Could you possibly do the 5pm CP & then catch the boat from the back of Epcot to MGM for the lights? Just a thought.

Could this possibly work for you? I still haven't made it down for the Christmas Holiday. Hopefully 2007 will be our year and I want to try and see both if possible.

What is your conflict that will prevent you from seeing both?

Osborne Lights! Snowfall, amazing lights display, holiday music, it's like you feel into an alternate universe of holiday cheer. It's so worth the time to see all the neat ways they work the lights. Where else will you see a bbq grill covered in lights? :scratchin Maggie
