Candelight Processional Line

Slightly off topic...but I am still mystified that there are trees inside the seating area. Trees are nice and all, but just very odd placement. They could very well extend some sort of shade roof over the seating area if they are looking for shade.

I know, right? They could just put up some of those shade sails and get ride of the trees.

More or less.
There are sections that can accommodate wheelchairs.
As to associated areas for others in the wheelchair guest's party... if others can
grab seats next to or near those wheelchair areas, that's how it works.
Only two family members will be permitted to sit next to the chair.
So if it's just me and my mom (wheelchair) and we have the dining package (Pat Sajak - Dec 5th), we should be fine if we get there an hour before? 45 minutes? Do those wheelchair spaces go quickly? Any difference/advantage between a wheelchair and a scooter (we'll have both and I could bring the better option that evening)? Thanks!

A. we should be fine if we get there an hour before?
B. 45 minutes?
C. Do those wheelchair spaces go quickly?
D. Any difference/advantage between a wheelchair and a scooter...

A. Likely.
B. Earlier beats later every time.
C. Depends on the number of WC at your particular show... an unknown to predict.
D. Nope.

I haven't done the processional since I was in the college program. We waited in the standby line for Marlee Matlin -- don't remember what time we lined up, maybe an hour before. I have the dining package on 12/2 with Whoopi Goldberg. I was thinking about getting in line around 6 for a 6:45 show.

Is that too late? I don't feel much urge to be right in the front, but I would like to comfortably get a seat. I can probably wiggle some things around (and cut out a show) to get there earlier if I must.

And, in the case of popular narrators, an hour is not exactly "early" even in the CP Pkg. line.

Based on your previous responses, that's what I figured. Would you recommend an hour and a half in advance? Again, I just want to make sure I get a seat - I'm not aiming for a prime location. I'm also a solo traveler this time.

Sorry, but there's no way to time it down to the minute.

If seeing a particular performance is important to you...
It's better to arrive far too early than to arrive one minute too late.

I understand. Sorry for trying to pin you down! I appreciate the help, as always.

on another tangent... anyone have experience seeing the narrators in the parks for the days they are there? that would be great, like seeing the celebrities in disneyland. i had the unfortunate timing of being in DL the same day the kardashians threw north west a birthday party, but seeing NPH and the fam around would be lovely

There are certainly enough seats for every dining package purchaser, right?

Even though you are guaranteed a seat with the package it might be a seat behind a tree, or you have to split up your party... I've seen this happen many many times.
I have always done standby and I get there early enough where I'm the first or second family. I usually have my elderly parents with me, they cannot stand in line for hours so i always explain to my line neighbors the situation and i have never had a problem with my parents showing up 30 minutes before they let us in. Also I usually go with my son and we take turns heading to eat or to the bathroom, no issues. I think it's important to explain the situation.
Even the cm when they are counting how many in line they ask how many in your party even if the entire party is not there.
It helps that i get in line by noon though

Ouch. I realize now that the Pop Warner thing starts on Dec. 2. Will the crowds be bad pretty quickly after their arrival?

Pop Warner is not generally a major factor at the parks.
The PW participants are most often participating in non-park PW activities.
They are more a "distraction" at certain of the resorts.

Ah, I see. I suppose I can't fathom being right there and not going to the parks. I'm prepared to suffer their presence at the resorts (I'll be in the midst of it at All Star Music). It's a quick solo trip, so I'm packing my patience.

Yup.
And, PW participants are particularly not prime candidates for attending Candlelight shows.
