Cancun

Thinking of going to cancun for spring break 2016 or as soon as school gets out. Wanting to take a family vacation before my son goes into the Airforce. What can you tell me about it. I was looking into the Xcaret park and staying at the hotel on there web sight because it includes the park everyday it says. Where have you been or done thanks. I have a son who will be 16, The 18 yo and a 25 yo girl plus my husband and myself. I see most rooms only hold 2, so we most likely would have to do 3 sets of rooms and hubby says it has to be all inclusive. I want someplace that has more then 2 different restaurants to choose from. I understand that means more people, but want things for the kids to do. I want my youngest son to be able to go on dives everyday as he is on the local sheriffs recovery dive team here and I want him to be able to experience it somewhere besides the river and lakes. We looked into Belize and a few other places but flights are crazy almost $1000 each from wash state. Thanks

Xcaret is a fun park, I think the entire family will like it. I have also been to their sister park, Xplor. That park has ziplining, underwater canoeing, a course where you drive something like a John Deere gator. There is a similar park to Xcaret calls Xel-Ha which I have not been to. Other things we have done in Cancun area was go to an aquarium. We also took an excursion to Chichen Itza (ruins) that was pretty interesting. I know Cozumel is very big for diving (it's about a 1/2 hour ferry ride from Playa del Carmen). I'm not sure if your son would need to go over to Cozumel to meet up with an operator or if they operate on mainland Mexico as well. I have done a lot of shore dives from Cozumel on our own (just went to the dive shop to get the tank and went ride into the ocean).
