I have a friend whose dd was just diagnosed. They have been on a roller coaster of testing and waiting and the doctors were going back and forthe between 3 diagnosis (plural? sorry don't know it!). One possibility was non-hodgkins.
I know one version is worse than the other and they are very happy that it is "hodgkins" versus "non-hodkins".
I don't know the family well enough to bug them, so I'm coming here in my cancer-ignorance. (information I know is via their caring bridge updates).
She has had her first round of chemo/radiation--"stuff" and the tumor (mass on her lung) has shrunk significantly.
The agressive treatment she had last weekend was cancelled this weekend (it was round 2) and they are going a different route (I'm guessing b/c the cancer is not "as bad" as they thought).
She gets her port on monday and then starts the next (but different) round of chemo.
Anyway--I'm just wondering if Hodkins is a "good diagnosis". It seems from their updates that they couldn't have hoped for better (outside of no cancer at all). Stage 3 seems very high--but it was a very large mass that she had.
What is the prognosis?
TIA!
