It's one *or* the other:
1. If it is a package, as long as she cancelled at least 2 days prior, she should get the full refund of hotel and tickets minus $200. In this case, the reservation number she received should be short (8 characters) with letters and numbers.
2. If it is a room-only reservation, with tickets purchased at a later date (but not turned into a package), she should have received 12-digit confirmation number (all numbers) and a separate confirmation number for her tickets. As long as she cancels the hotel portion at least 5 days from her check-in date, she should receive the entire hotel deposit back (1 night stay). If it's less than 5 days from check-in, then she loses a 1-night deposit.
For a separate ticket purchase, the confirmation number for her tickets would start with the first 3 letters of her last name and have 4 additional numbers. The tickets are indeed non-refundable, but she can keep them and use them at a later time. They would either have to mail them to her, or they will be at Will Call. With her confirmation number, she can link them on
MDE and they can be added to her MBs the next time she's at Disney.
3. Option #3 is that she booked some type of conference/group travel rate. But, even in this case, she should be able to get a confirmation number to use the ticket at a later date, or receive a refund. Some of these special tickets expire the current calendar year (2014), so if she was originally planning to go late in the year, she would have to go by 12/31/14.
