We had a 6 night stay planned for next week... and due to Pregnancy restrictions, we are having to cancel and postpone. :crutches:

I am SO SAD about it.... We were going for my son's 4th Birthday, and had LOTS of big plans such as Plaza Character breakfast ON his actual bday, etc..

New baby will be born first week of November...

We are thinking we will go in February... So PLEASE... Tell me ALL the GOOD things about why we will like a DL NON SUMMER trip, because I've only ever gone in summer, and like i said I am MORE sad than the kids even are about the postponing... :(:(:(

We have been to the parks in Feb twice. We love this time of year. It is a lot less crowded and it's not 3 billion degrees in the shade (okay, that's an exaggeration but summer is HOT). This means that our tempers are much easier to manage and we enjoy the parks more. Though the hours are shorter, we have managed to do more each time (because of the shorter lines). We have never had issues getting adr's for the experiences we want to do.

Don't be sad. You are going to have a new little person to introduce to all things Disney and you and your family are going to have a brilliant time.

My best visits have been in Jan and Feb. It's easier to do everything because the crowds are down. The staff are generally more happy and helpful, too, probably because they don't have to focus on crowd control.

That stinks about a cancelled trip, but that's wonderful to hear about a new little baby!! To think on the positive side, at least you're at home and not in Disneyland with complications. That would really stink if you were at Disneyland and couldn't enjoy the park and had to stay in the hotel or something.

We've only visited during April, September, October, and December. Those times are completely wonderful to go! February will be completely wonderful as well!

February doesn't have the worry of grad-nights or spring break and crowds will be lower. It will be a lot cooler, too. I'm not sure how people can deal with the heat at Disneyland in the summer months. It gets like 75 degrees here and I'm already melting! lol

Happy early birthday to your little guy! Maybe he'll even be a bit taller by February and can ride some rides he may not get to ride right now.

Oh also, they may have Fantasmic up and running by then! It's a wonderful show! :)

Sorry you had to cancel your trip, I would be very bummed also. On the bright side, you still get to go! We went in February when my son was 5 months and we loved it! He was fascinated with all the lights and bright colors, I loved looking into his eyes of wonder. The weather is much more pleasant. The hours will be shorter but the crowds will be much less, you should still be able to see/do more. Also if you are wanting to do rope drop it'll be easier to make it since that will likely be later than summer hours RD. Now you have more time to research all the wonderful things about DL!

PS - hope all goes smoothly with the remainder of your pregnancy

Thank you all! I know it will be okayyyy but man have I been sad, haha ..

I am extra glad you've had some positive February experiences! :yay: My family as a whole will probably do better with that temperature, especially with the new baby.

The shorter park hours actually won't be bad, because I'm a RD to close kinda gal and it'll be easier to manage short hours with little kids! :-)

We went to the Disney store yesterday and man oh man do they have cute baby outfits!

It'll be OK....it's always a bummer to postpone a trip. (And it doesn't matter how old you are, waiting 8 months for a trip that was supposed to be next week is a looong time!)

Just think that it was meant to be this way. It's way too hot in the summer. February is lovely.

What ARE average February Disney hours?

Also, is The Paint the Night Parade shoe special for their anniversary or will this continue? We wanted to see it SO BADLY!

Since traveling with kids, we always avoid summer and hit the slightly-less-crazy times. Many weeks in Feb, early March, part of November, etc. We love it so much more!

I know the feeling all too well. I was put on bedrest right before a big trip we had planned while I was pregnant with twins. No fun! But, not going in summer is actually amazing. It's much less crowded and usually cooler outside, so you won't have to suffer through dehydration.

I'm so sorry to hear about your canceled plans. That's never fun, even when it's for good reason.

But, if it's any consolation, we generally travel in Nov/Dec or late Jan/early Feb and due to my own pregnancy, we just got back from an impromptu trip this week, and honestly, I'm almost sad we didn't postpone. The crowds were shocking to us. We left early today (our last day), at around 2:30 because there were SO. MANY. BODIES. It was impossible to get anywhere in multiple places and trying to keep track of two older kids and a toddler was more than my 8 week pregnant body could handle. First time we've EVER not closed down the park on our last day. It was madness. I think you'll enjoy your trip much more in the off season. I know we won't be back again in the summer.

Why don't you try to go next summer? You should have the railroad, river, and Fantasmic! open again.

A trip in February is so much more fun!! Easy to do more of everything, not hot, and soarin and frozen will be less busy and will have all the bugs out.

I went pregnant once and had issues pop up on the trip so I was on bedrest in the hotel while toddler, dh and au pair got to enjoy dl. Miserable! On the bright side you were able to reschedule.

Sorry you had to cancel. I feel for you. I did 20 weeks of full bed rest with my second and my daughter was 4. It all turned out well so that is the good part. I also love going in the "off season". Think of it this way, at 4 they hardly remember things even as magical as a Disney trip, but at 5 they remember almost everything so going a little later there will be a better chance of that. Also, being a second child myself I know that even being a baby in photos and knowing you were there with the family is awesome. So your new little baby will be a part of that. You also will have a stroller to keep all your stuff in! You will also be able to take turns going on the rides with your son instead of watching.
