Cancelling dates at the beginning of a trip

Friends of ours are planning a trip to wdw in april. They currently have reservation M-F at our home resort, VWL. They want to move to BCV when it becomes available at the 7 month window. My concern is that this will be difficult since they are not going over a weekend and people will be able to grab that week before our 7 month window is open.

So, can I change their reservation to Saturday through Friday and cancel the first two days once we get into the beach club? It is a somwhat busy week they are looking at, hence my concern.

Yes you can do this. With the ability to book 7 days from check in now it may or may not be available when you call to change to BCV but at least you can call and try. I have been on a waitlist for the labor day weekend at BCV for several months now with no luck - didn't think that week would be so busy but guess I was wrong.
