Cancelling because of Wilma

Pixie dust to all of you who will be vacationing during Wilma.

I'm not sure everyone that was in the path of Katrina would describe it as "exciting'

You took my comment out of context. I also said: "I wouldn't recommend riding out a hurricane on the coast, but Charley lost a lot of power after landfall.".

Dh and I are flying out of Wichita, KS early tomorrow morning, arriving in Orlando early afternoon. If we have some delays, we'll deal with it....no way would we cancel our trip. We expect to have rain (perhaps heavy) for a couple of days, but that will just make the crowds more maneagable. :) It seems the forecast changes every few hours, so we won't know till we get there if there will be a problem or not. We'll watch the forecasts, but while we're watching....we'll be having fun at our favorite place. :earsgirl:

DH and I fly out late Saturday, stay at the airport and check in at BWV on Sunday. We're still going. Combined we've been through three hurricanes and I used to live in Florida, so we know what we're getting into. As long as Delta doesn't cancel our flight, we'll be there.

Now the hitch is we've got "northerners" joining us on Tuesday. If the storm continues to slow down, they're spooked enough they may cancel or come in late. So far, my dad and step-mom say they're coming, but my niece and nephew's mom is mighty nervous about sending them down. If she's not comfortable, I let her know I will respect her wishes.

The only thing I have to keep track of now is who all is coming to join us. We've got MNSSHP tickets bought for Tuesday night and an Illuminations cruise on Wednesday. I called today and made notes on all the cancellation policies (hoping Disney would give us a break on the MNSSHP tickets for those who don't come down if it comes to that -- we have to pick them up at Will Call to get our AP discount anyway).
