Cancelling an annual pass after it goes month to month.

Question: I have a Universal AP paying monthly. As I understand it after 1 year it automatically renews at the then current rate and monthly payments continue at the rate of the then current rate divided by 12. Do I have that right? Assuming I have that part right, if I then want to cancel my annual pass after that point, do I have to wait until an entire second year goes by, or can I just cancel it by giving the requisite notice at any point during that year? Trying to figure out the best time to cancel it as we’re going to have a bit of time between trips. Thanks in advance!

It looks like they treat the second year different than the first when using flex-pay option.

You cannot cancel within that first year - you need to make all the monthly payments during that 12 months period.

If you continue beyond the first 12 months with flex-pay, then you do have the option to cancel any month after that.

Here is the page to do so:

(Keep in mind multiple passes bought on one contract must be treated the same)

Does this mean I can’t cancel, for example, 3 out of 4 passes, and must cancel ALL passes?

It looks like you can AFTER the first 12 months has passed.

But say you have 4 people/passes, and you want 2 of them to stop at the 12 month mark and 2 of them to continue on to the monthly flex-pay? That’s where an issue might arise. Does everybody first need to go into the monthly pay at 13 months before one individual can be separated? I’m not clear on that point.

Bizarrely that is exactly my situation. We have a trip planned the month our AP’s expire. We want to do epic universe as well though (and plan on purchasing a multi day express pass), so it actually might make more sense to just buy a 5 day hopper ticket, but we would like to keep one of the AP’s active for the free parking / food & merch discounts. It’s marginal either way though since the numbers are so close.
