well I did it I officailly cancelled our trip==now I feel low but maybe possibliy in 2023 things could be a bit better

our days didnt last long on the website 3 of the nights were gone almost right away so at least I made someones day

anyways so now the next hurdle is renting out our XXX (removed details) points that I had banked from 2020 (removed details).

I did look up davids rental and thought they were very good answered all my questions and got back to me real fast

but now I noticed theres a dvc rental which looks its a sponsor here also

just wondering what people here have used and any pros and cons to each

thanks--this is all so new to me

I removed the details of how many points you own and UY so that this thread did not appear to be a For Rent (which I know it is not). I have only used David's so can't speak for the other broker, but most reports are good ones.

I know during the pandemic, there were more negative reports from those working with David's vs other rental brokers. But, in the end, it is about the contract and knowing what you are responsible for if an emergency, like resort closure happens. David's now requires you to refund the money, regardless of point status. Not sure what the other companies have in place.

Honestly, the majority of them go off without issue so I think most brokers will be good to work with in the end.

thanks sandisw for the great reply--I wasnt thinking when I went to uy and points--I only added uy cause time Ive had a question which Ive had many--people would ask my uy so I thought Id just put in in there

but thanks for understanding what I was saying

Im going to read once more how all of this works and then decide tomorrow

I prefer DVC Rental Store to David's. Not only does DVC Rental Store pay more ($16 per point as opposed to $15.50 per point for 7-11 month reservations at "premium" resorts), I prefer the way the DVC Rental Store process works. For David's, you tell them what points you want to rent and they will get back to you if and when they find a suitable renter. DVC Rental Store keeps a list of rental requests on their website, listed by resort, dates, and number of points, which you can browse through and choose one whenever you like. You can also sign up to receive their list of available rentals via email, and also for specific notifications when owner requests corresponding to what you are looking to rent come in. Finally, I read many horror stories here about David's treatment of owners when the resort closures happened, while DVC Rental Store handled the problems in a much more professional manner.

Ok thanks, I have used Davids to seel my points previously, the issue I am having is that neither Davids or any similar seem to be able to offer me the points I need for my additional family to book.
