Cancelled Teppanyaki? Call back for VIP!!

I received my call today for our reservations on September 26th and since I had made back up reservations for Coral Reef I was ok. My problem came when I sat down and thought out the logistics. We had 2:10 ADR's at Coral Reef and then would have to hang around all afternoon and evening with two 4 year olds, two 3 year olds and a 9 month old until 9:00 Illuminations. So after reading this I thought that maybe I would be able to change the ADR to a dinner one. No luck. Apparently it is all booked so I get to keep what I had. I suppose I should be greatful that I had a back up at all and especially at Coral Reef, but I guess after reading this thread I was hoping for more. Oh well! The little ones will love the fish and I am sure we will manage until 9:00! Good luck to everyone else!

She got me a table for 3 at 6:30 at Coral Reef and a confirmation# for the VIP location for IllumiNations.

You let them off too easy...the OP on another thread (now locked) says she cried until she couldn't breathe when her Teppanyaki ressie was canceled and was then comped dinner for two at Victoria & Alberts

Will you be at EPCOT another evening that will be more convenient for Illuminations? I know they will allow you to have the VIP any night you choose.

Well I just called, no waiting at all. The CM told me that it is scheduled to open in Mid-October, not the end. She did make another ressie for the same night 10/19 just in case at Rose and Crown. She stated that if it comes to it they will contact me but now with the back up I feel better. If it does come up I will mention the VIP as well.
We'll see I guess.

I think the most frustrating part is that I am STILL on hold and just last sunday my mom called to check on reservations and the guy NEVER told her there was an issue, just that the name had changed.

How many people a night do you think that the Japan restaurant seats or reservations were made for? Can not be more 500 to 600.

In Appril I made a series of ressies for the week of 10/15. On Wednesday I made one for the Biergarten and for Friday at Teppanyaki. I called back to confirm all my resies today and the one for Friday was Biergatrten as well. I called the special number and they said, "Oh Well, you or our agent made an incorrect ressie, we can't help you." I though at least they would help with VIP seating and another location, but no!

If you have a confirmation number call the special number that was posted previoulsy in this thread. They will help you. You may have just gotten a regular old cm that had no idea what to do.

When I called last night to try to book for October - they told me Teppan Edo (new name) was not opening until November 15.

What happens if you have a lunchtime reservation, do you think they will still offer a VIP view of illuminations as compensation?

Thanks, I tried that as well. No luck. There was no cancellation number. There is a number for a ressie at Germany and I made the ressie at Japan.

Just called today and tried to get ADR for October 26th and was told they wouldn't open till Nov. 1.
DD was disappointed, but I reminded her that the store with the pearls and the F&WF booth for Japan would be open, just not the Habachi.

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO! We have ADR made at 180 days for 10/26.

Just got off the phone with the 800 # and they indicated it would not be open until Nov. Offered VIP area and another ressie. However I'll need to check with the family before I make another ressie as it was the only place my DS's (13 & 8) really wanted to go.
