I cancelled my Teppanyaki reservations about 2 weeks ago, when word first hit that it wouldn't be opened by my Sept 13th reservation date. Then I read here on the board that people with ressies were being called and given preferential seating for Illuminations and extra tables were opened for dining. I felt a bit shafted, since I'd been proactive.

I called WDW-DINE a one o'clock Eastern and asked to speak to Guest Relations. The CM had to ask why, of course. I barely got out the words, "I had reservations at Teppanyaki..." and she interupted with "Oh, no problem, please hold." Now, I was actually on hold for 50 minutes before someone picked up. I explained that I'd originally had Teppanyaki on the 13th but cancelled when I heard about the refurb. As a result, we'd juggled our schedule around but still wanted to be in Epcot for an evening. I told her I'd heard about the VIP seating and extra tables.

She checked that I had indeed originally had Teppanyaki reservations (by date & name, but my reservation# would have helped) and then was able to help me. She said they'd opened another block of reservations at each restaurant to handle our situation. She got me a table for 3 at 6:30 at Coral Reef and a confirmation# for the VIP location for IllumiNations. She was as sweet as could be, apologized for the long wait time & inconvenience. She said that her team is currrently ONLY dealing with Teppanyaki calls, in and out. I'm guessing the block of tables would have originially gone to walk-ups because you certainly can't cram more tables in!!

We have Teppanyaki on 9/10, and were able to get Cape May. We already have Le Cellier for our arrival night, Coral Reef, and the Princess dinner for later in the week. Is the VIP viewing for Illuminations that big of a deal? I can't think of any other great, hard to get places in Epcot. I was thinking of Liberty Tree, as we've never been. Think they could get me that, or should we just stick with Cape May? BTW, we are already also doing Cinderella dinner, CM, and CP.

Were you offered LeCellier or just Coral Reef? I too called two weeks ago as soon as I found out but they didn't have much available then.

I'm sure I could have gotten almost anywhere I wanted, but I asked for Corral Reef. I couldn't find anything good that I wanted when dealing with the regular CM. I had to ask for Guest Relations because of the TEppanyaki problems. They sent me to a special number.

Thanks SO much for suggesting this! I called this am to change my Oct ressie from Teppan Edo to Rose and Crown, and I called back now to get the VIP (also on hold 50 min) and I got it! Yay!

They just called me to cancel my ressie on 9-1 and offered me the VIP fireworks viewing. He also gave me a number to call back if I changed my mind. He said it's a special one set up just for this issue. It's 800-711-4344.

Thank you, Flametamr!!! I called this morning. The first person I got transferred me supposedly to a "special" line when I started talking about my Teppan Edo reservation - but instead the call went directly to the survey. The next person I called said there was no special line, and nothing available at Le Cellier. When I kept sounding disappointed she transferred me to the main reservation number. That very nice CM transferred me to the switchboard. That CM transferred me to... the very same CM I'd started with :rolleyes2.

I will call the number you posted tomorrow. Wish me luck!

That happened to me the first time I called as well. The CM sounded hesitant to transfer me, she was afraid she'd disconnect me. She thought I would come right back to her if something went wrong, instead I went to the survey. I wonder if the extension number for the Teppan special line is a digit or two off from the survey extension?

I received a call yesterday and was then transferred to someone to actually "make" the new ressie (I had actually planned on just eating CS that night instead, but if they were offering Le Cellier and VIP viewing for Illuminations, I'll take it!). I was on hold for 25 minutes before I left a message and hung up.

I got a call back tonight and spoke with a nice cm who set us up with a 5:30 Le Cellier ressie on 8/29 and the Illuminations VIP thing! Woo-hoo!

Now I have to tweak ressies again (I will likely cancel Plaza Pirates and Princess night and do counter service then instead)....but I am psyched!

DRC keeps track of all of your cancelled ADRs in addition to any that are "live". So, if you had a reservation, and cancelled before the VIP seating was offered, I'm sure there is still a record of it.

Don't be shy!

I called back later tonight to change the ressie I made earlier when they called to cancel Teppan Edo. I was on hold for an hour. The poor guy said he was to only one aswering the special number. I had made a res for Nine Dragons and then thought better of it. When I called back I got Coral Reef like I wanted. So if you call plan on being patient.

Today is my second day calling and being put on hold. Don't get in from work until 9:30 and get hold for 30 minutes and then they close down. i am off tomorrow so will start in the morning. that will give me all day to be on hold. I made a back up last week at the CM's suggestion but I am calling back for the VIP viewing. My Teppanyaki res should still be there as they didn't cancel it.

We just found out about Teppanyaki. I have ressies for Oct 3rd for lunch.
I'm totally bummed!! :sad2: This is the one place my hubby insisted that we had to go. Not that I was arguing.... but now it's not going to happen.
I'm going to call first thing in the AM but I can't remember what time they open. Thanks in advance to whomever comes to my rescue!

When is Teppenyaki supposed to open back up?? Thanks!!!

I've seen 2 different dates. One said October 15 and the other said November 1st.

Well doesn't that just stink...... The only reason My DH and I were splitting up that night because he and me 12 year old wanted to eat there, and our 8 year old wouldn't, so the rest of us are going to Le Celler. I wonder if they will be able to squeeze us in together or If we will be stuck eating seperately that night.

Call and ask. I'm betting they could change your Le Cellier from a 2 table to a 4 person table, no problem. Maybe you'll also gte VIP locaiton for IllumiNations. Good luck, plan to be on hold for a while!

Thanks!!!! I have the number already in my phone, and my alarm set for just before 8:30 so I can call first thing!!!! Wish me luck!!!:goodvibes

Yay, I got my DH and son into Le Cellier at the same time as us now!!!! We have seperate reservations, but they are at the same time still, plus VIP viewing for all of us!!!! Gosh, had I waited for them to call me, we might not have been able to get them in with us at all. Thank you so much for posting this!!!

I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 min last night without an answer (I think that the special phone line was closed but I was put through to it anyways).

Has anyone left their name and number instead of staying on hold? If so, how long did it take for Disney to call you back?

Would really like to get a reservation for Le Cellier.
