Cancellation timeframe before lose points

We have reservations for early December and I don’t want to get too excited as we have already had two DVC vacations (and one DCL cruise) cancelled because resorts were closed but points were put back accordingly.

With the resorts now open, if NY keeps FL on the quarantine list at that time, we will not be able to go. How far in advance would I have to cancel my vacation before losing points? Is it still 31 days or have rules changed since all these quarantine restrictions? I would really hate to cancel and then FL is taken off the list but don’t want to gamble with all the points I would lose.

Thank you

They still are letting you cancel the day before without points going into holding. They are still putting borrowed points back in the original UY. We don’t know when these things will change.

The thing is we have no idea when this temporary change will stop so I would not assume it will still be in place.

I would plan on the 31 day and if you decide to risk it, know you could end up with holding as there is no requirement for them to notify owners,

I have an end of October and early December trip and I plan to wait it out and hope for the best.

Banking rules still apply. So if you decide to bank you points, you need to do it before the last four months of your UY.
