I had a plan all worked out wtih what park when and what ADR when.
Now between the impossible booking of BOG, the Halloween party, and estimated crowd dates I 'm thinking of maybe changing things around.

e.g. Currently have
Thurs - BOG
Fri - Epcot with Akershus breakfast and then head over for MNSSHP

But since a BOG reservation is unlikely to snag, am wondering if I should swap Epcot and BOG days....so maybe at booking, I should also try booking Akershus for breakfast on Friday.

So if I have both, can I cancel in say a month when i further work this out based on what ADRs I'm able to get? Or is there a penalty?
I know it's not fair as well though to hold on to reservations when i know one will be cancelled.

You can cancel most dining resv. More than 24 hrs in advance; some require 48 hr cancellation. Sad that Disney has made it come down to this.

Correct; keep your cancellation numbers just in case you run into a problem.

Rather, sad that rude and greedy guests have made it come to this.;)

And actually it is not a true 24 hour cancellation. You just need to cancel the day before your ADR to avoid the penalty at most restaurants.

based on original post it sounds like you want to book 2 restaurants for the same date for breakfast? If so you can't hold 2 and cancel one later. The reason they instituted the new rules is because people were doing the same thing you are wanting to do. maybe I misunderstood what you are trying to do?

No. Am thinking of booking Akershus for breakfast Thursday and Friday until we confirm which day we'd visit Epcot and which day Magic Kingdom.
